Excerpted from the Ships Rules. Section 6 - Character Policies All character submissions must be approved by the Command Staff who may request rewrites or additional details be added. In the event that a character application is rejected, the Command Staff will give the reason why and then give recommendations for ways to fix the problem area. All main characters must have complete bios which must include: Age, Sex, Race, Height, Weight, physical description Weaknesses as well as strengths. This makes your character more believable and more fun to play. Pictures as these are helpful for you and other players, providing a good idea of what your character looks like. Histories are important, don't leave them out. Pancake characters (those who have name/race/gender and little else) are discouraged and likely will not be approved. No Q, Douwd or other godlike races will be allowed. Canon Character Affiliations are strictly forbidden. Your character may have served on the same ship with them, but your character can't be their friend, mentor, family member, etc. No academy class mates of Riker or children of Tom and Paris. o working on Romulus with Spock, etc. Starting ranks are set by the Command Staff. An appropriately detailed character bio that justifies a higher starting rank will be taken into consideration but does not guarantee that the character will start at that rank. Each player may have up to one main character (or PC) and up to two Secondary Character. A player's characteristics and history must fit within the context of Starfleet and Star Trek as established in the television shows and by the game/story Canon. Players joining the USS Whatever need to complete the following tasks within a reasonable amount of time (within the first week preferably) after being accepted as a member of the crew: Write an Introductory Solo Post, this is something we ask of all of our new members. Report to your Department Head (and/or the Executive Officer). New crew members would routinely report to the Executive Officer to check in, be advised of any specific rules observed aboard ship, etc. Likewise it would be routine to report to their department head to receive their duty assignments. While it is purely an in character experience, it is a great way for you to get some posts under your belt. Finally, meet the Commanding Officer. This may seem intimidating (especially since I do bite) but it really isn't. This is simply an In Character way for you to meet the Captain and formally be welcomed aboard the ship. |
