I figure with the whole Survivor Series being brand warfare that it be cool to talk about each brands own power factions in the New Day, and The Shield. Judging by last nights RAW it is clear to me they're going down this route at Survivor Series. Now I have some questions for you guys. Which faction do you feel is better? Now when answering this question answer as only them as a faction together. Not them as individuals. Because no doubt seperately the Shield would win this debate easily because they have all achieved becoming world champions while the New Day has zero. So please only answer who is better together as a faction. Which faction do you feel is more over? This is a tough one because back in the Shield's hay day they're one of the most over groups ever. I can always remember when Triple H was about to pin Bryan for the world title, and the Shields music hits and the eruption they got. The Shield has a style that fits everyone, and gets the crowd going especially in matches, but the New Day. Man has there been a group who has been just constantly been more over? It seems like no matter what your opionion is on them they're always getting a good reaction. It is hard to decide but who do you feel is more over? Which faction has had a better run? Similar to the first one, but looking at there run. So comparing the Shields first run to the New Day's current run which one do you feel is overall better, and more successful. Is this a dream match for you? And finally. If this match were to happen who should win? Simple who should win. Edited by Chase, Nov 7 2017, 01:06 PM.

Which faction do you feel is better? It really depends on your metric for success. One could argue the New Day is the better faction because they have the record tag championship reign, but that's basically their only accomplishment. Inside the auspices of the faction, the Shield has not only had tag success and titles, but also midcard success with the longest United States title reign in WWE history (Ambrose). For that reason, I feel the Shield has shown more versatility and overall has been the better faction of the two. Which faction do you feel is more over? Look, there's no denying that New Day was massively over for a very long time. They were moving merch, the fans were always hyped to see them, and so on. These days, it honestly feels like there's been too much of a good thing and the group is too overexposed. They don't seem to draw as much of a pop, they're not as buzzworthy. The Shield, however, was huge when they debuted, huge when they broke up the first time, and huge when they reunited earlier this year. The group's reunion was a legitimate source of buzz and speculation for months, and even with all of the contempt for Reigns as a singles star, the faction is massively over right now. So it's hard to determine which stable is more over given that they have both had periods of time when they were major draws and neither has been particularly hot at the same time as the other. Which faction has had a better run? Judging from success -as a unit- and their staying power, I'd argue that the New Day has. That said, the Shield has definitely been booked in a more compelling way with lots of twists and turns to their storyline over the years since they debuted. Is this a dream match for you? Not really. I figured that a clash like this was inevitable as soon as the Shield reunited, and I'm not surprised they're building toward it at the brand crossover show. It will put asses in seats, but it's not exactly "dreamy." Who should win? I feel the Shield needs it more. Reigns going out with an injury hurt their buzz a little bit, so a big win over one of the most dominant factions in the history of the business will immediately restore some of their credibility. The New Day seem to be timeless; even though I feel their schtick is kind of tired, it doesn't seem like it is going to be retired any time soon. And who knows, maybe a major loss would give them some new storytelling opportunities? |

But they're so different! And yet, are they? WHICH ONE IS BEST? - I've always liked that the New Day knows how to work a catch phrase. It's like them and Enzo are the only people who ever watched a The Rock or Jericho promo. People love to say things along with wrestlers. They just fucking do. New Day rocks that hard. I appreciate that. Also, the New Day are all really solid in the ring (side note, Crann mentioned Ambrose's longest US title run, but Big E has the longest TV title run, so there's that, too). Even Woods is really good in the ring, he just doesn't get to shine as much. That said, Rollins is on another level than all of 'em. And given the chance, Ambrose is probably the best promo. If "best" means which team I think is capable of putting on a better match on any given night, I'd give the nod to a healthy SHIELD now or them in the OG run. If best is most succesful / over, then maybe the SHIELD back in like 2012/3(?) gets that too. But New Day have been taken a lot less seriously, given less to work with often and have been around longer and are still finding ways to make it work. So good for them. Fuck it, the New Day is better. WHO'S MORE OVER? Catchphrases are one thing, but I think OG run SHIELD was over as fuck. Never gonna forget them having the staredown with the Wyatts are Elimination Chamber and the crowd just buzzing to see it. When the SHIELD first started it was hot and cool and fresh and while everyone loves the New Day, I don't know if they've gone superstar level like the SHIELD felt when they were facing Evolution. New Day might be more over than the current Ambrose / Rollins duo though, idk. WHO HAS HAD THE BETTER RUN? SHIELD first run had some huge moments but in between the Evolution feud and the Rollins turn I don't even remember what they were doing. New Day has had ups and downs, but they got a hella long title reign in there and also just had their best year (as far as match quality goes) ever. So New Day. IS THIS A DREAM MATCH? I only dream in Japanese now WHO SHOULD WIN? No fucking way I'd book New Day over the SHIELD and less I was turning Ambrose heel (which should happen at some point but doesn't need to be in this). New Day doesn't need a win like this. And if "best modern faction legacy" were billed to be on the line, I say let 'em lose anyway. They've still got the longest tag reign.
