So Jinder's push just got stomped on, at least for now. He drops the world title on SD (first time since 03?) and is off the next ppv. No suspension or injury, just a change of direction. Maybe cause 1.3 billion people just didn't care after all. Maybe he screws Styles over at SurSer. Maybe he gets his title back soon. Word is that the upcoming India tour in December he was supposed to be champion going into will just be one show and he's wrestling Triple H there, so maybe he won't be champion then, but who knows? Things change so fast these days. Nakamura lost the NXT title just to win it back in Japan, right? Would they do the same with Jinder? An untelevised WWE title change would be crazy. Anyway, mostly what I wanted to talk about was how you would book Jinder going into Mania? Saying "fire him" is too easy. I know lots of folks don't like him, but let's assume that the WWE is interested in keeping him around and not making him a jobber again. Maybe the experiment didn't work, but the guys isn't the worst ever. Not great, but not the worst. Good enough for WWE, maybe not good enough to be champ, right? And over as heel. How do you book him for the next few months into Mania tho? I'd like to see him kept strongish for a while, if only so Drew McIntyre can feud with him when he moves back up to the main show (which would probably be after Mania). I think that feud writes itself, could be good stuff. But before then? Why not do him, Singh 1 and Singh 2 vs the New Day? You gotta keep them away from the Usos and belts for a bit now anyway, so that could work. New Day clearly the better team but Jinder gets underhanded wins while his boys get wrecked. You could save that match for Mania, have him do the Rumble in the mean time, or book him against Cena at the big show. That's been rumored for a while, supposed to be for the WWE belt, but wouldn't you rather see Nakamura vs. Styles for that instead (maybe finally get a great match out Shinsuke?) Anyway, just some thoughts. But what are yours? What would you do with Jinder now? |

It's really hard to say how the Dub will book Jinder. It's clear the little experiment with him as a main event star did not pay off the way the company intended, and so it makes sense that they would move the belt off of him for Survivor Series if they have lost the faith. But there is an alternative possibility, too. Lesnar has never been the safest worker, and though Jinder's health hasn't really ever been called into question he also has never worked a program with someone who couldn't exactly be called "safe." So if the company does, indeed, plan to have him fight HHH in India as the WWE Champion (a hairbrained scheme as HHH doesn't need the exposure and should just be retired at this point), it makes sense to protect that match by protecting Jinder. |

After getting left off Survivor Series, he gets involved with the main event, attacking AJ Styles after he pretty much has Brock beat. Jinder declares America has disrespected him and he will see its challenger in his home country. Fastforward to the live event, where Jinder beats Trips because he should no matter what. With a week left until Clash of Champions, he gets thrown into a match against John Cena, which he wins. Yes, Jinder Mahal beats John Cena. He then goes on to win the Rumble, last eliminating Shinsuke, and challenge Styles for the title, which he wins. All hail the Modern Day Maharaja!! |
