Took the wife out this morning hoping to get her hooked up with her first ever striper. Plans was to go up in back of creek early, catch bait and pull boards all day.... well didn’t go as planned

Got to back of creek where I was gonna catch my bait, marked lots of bait on garmin, opened compartment to get out net, but there was no net

What the heck, leave it to me to forget one of the most important items needed to catch bait!!

So had to resort to plan B, tie on some bucktails and start casting, and would you know it on my wife’s third cast she got nailed caught her first striper, small one but she was all tore up

Fished on for a couple more hours without anymore action, so decided to call marina and see if they had any jumbo minnows and luckily they did.

After picking up a dozen I went to another creek and put out a spread and about 45 min later she was hooked up again with her second striper ever... this one measured 26” I believe she is hooked now
Great day on the water, to bad gotta go back to the ole grind tomorrow though'
