The Chickahominy seems to be the place to be for Bass right now. Strong catches are being made almost daily. Soft plastics, both Texas rigs and shakey heads, are working well. Grass frogs are fooling fish also. The James and Potomac Rivers should be investigated before pulling a boat to them, as they both have received quite a bit of rain in the last week or so. Some roads leading to the Chickahominy were even flooded this week. The upper James is at 7 feet at the Westham gauge, but is falling fast, but still has a strong stain. However, things may be fishable by the weekend.
