Well just came in, got on water around 6:30 this morning and quit at 11 when the crazies woke up.... fished Bull Run, found perch scattered all over never got on no huge schools but there seemed to be a bunch in there. Lots of small ones, probably caught 40-50 but out of those maybe 10-15 over 8”. So I kept them for myself to eat, was planning on turning in some for a ticket but didn’t really have enough. Also caught 14 channel cats, they were small also but fun. I deployed my 12’ spider rigging poles with drop shot rigs on. Baited with night crawlers and gulp minnows, to my surprise I caught just about as many on the gulp minnows as I did the worms. Seemed that the most fish I caught was in about 12’ of water sticking close to baitfish. Water temp was around 78-80 |
