I went out of Colonial Beach on Saturday June 16th. I went to St. Clements Island and within five minutes I hooked the first striper on a chatterbait. I picked up another fish on the Chatterbait and then I switched to a blade bait. I caught the biggest fish of the trip at 19.5" on the blade bait and then the bite slowed down. I moved to a different location close to the island to jig on the drop-off near the ship channel. No luck

I picked up and moved to the mouth of Nomini Bay. I was marking bait all over the place but the water was very stained coming out of the Nomini. I didn't get any bites so I came out to the first point outside of the Nomini towards Coles Point. I saw several boats anchored up and they appeared to be chumming. I trolled from that location back towards St. Clements Island. No bites.

I went back to where I started and picked up three more fish, all undersized. I was the only person that I saw catching fish other than a few live bait fishermen that came over on the ferry to St. Clements Island from the mainland. That does strike a nerve because I saw one of them putting an undersized striper into their cooler. That pisses me off when people are not following the rules and this striper was only about 15" at best.

Anyway, the water was stained and I was happy to catch fish. I am still frustrated that I haven't picked up a keep striper yet out of this boat!
