In Character
  • No God-Moding
    • God-Moding is the act of implying success of an action without permission from the other involved part[ies] involved in the action. Basically, don't do something to another character without explicit permission from the dice, the person playing the character, or the person GMing that arc.

  • No Meta-Gaming
    • Meta-Gaming is the act of utilizing information known out of character only while in character. Just because you read something on the board, doesn't mean your character knows it.
    • The exception to this is rules meta-knowledge. If someone's using the Power Attack feat for example, you will notice in character. It can be flavored as a wild swing, shifting a hand back on the pommel for more leverage, or any number of things. Also, our characters don't refer to things in the same terms as we players do; please keep that in mind. A character asking his archer friend wouldn't say: "Do you know the art of the 'precise shot feat'?" Instead, that character might say something along the lines of: "How good are you at shooting into the fray?"

  • Moderate Your Own Adult Content
    • As long as you're within Zeta's Terms of Service, we don't actually care what you post about. As long as there aren't explicit and detailed descriptions of sexual acts or exceptionally gory scenes, they're fine. We only ask that you tag each topic where such a scene occurs with a [M] in the topic title/description. Anyone who finds such content offensive can then know that they don't necessarily want to read what you've written.
    • This does apply to language as well, but doesn't need to be policed as heavily. In the U.S., folks more decent than us get offended by a whole plethora of words the rest of the English-speaking world just shrugs at. So, all we ask, is that for vulgar language depicting sexual acts, please mark that topic with an [M] as well, but a few (or three dozen) eff-bombs do not a mature topic make.

  • Loop-Holes and Plot-Holes Clause
    • The point of this website is to be fun. And the rules system we're using to manage combat and character creation and everything in between was not designed with web-forums in mind. That being the case, please don't abuse loop-holes you find in either our rules or the ones provided by Paizo. Bring them to the attention of the staff and we'll do everything in our power to fix the situation. The same thing holds true for the stories on the site. If something isn't adding up, please just bring it to the person running that story, or the staff, in a respectful manner.

Out of Character
  • First and Foremost, Be Respectful
    • Look, this isn't tUMBLR. We're not all going to be friends. We're going to get on each others nerves. We're going to disagree about rules, about stories, about characters. That's one-hundred percent a-okay. Argue stuff out. Find a middle ground. That's what disagreeing is all about. However, we attack arguments and logic here: not people. If you don't like someone else playing here, and can't contain your verbiage around them, it becomes your responsibility to avoid those situations, not theirs. Regardless of circumstance, you're responsible for all for your own actions.

  • Please Beware Copyrights
    • While we allow face claims, playing a character verbatim from another intellectual property is not okay. This means, if your sweet mercenary character looks like Ike and wields a giant sword, that's perfectly fine. If that same character is named Ike and is now the leader of the Greil Mercenaries, we have a problem.
    • There's a special consideration for this on the rules of what we're allowed and not allowed to publish online from the rules source we are using. Basically, if something is published on either the SRD or the PRD, assume we have fair use of it. If its a weird feat from an obscure splat book, you can use the feat name, but please at least give the book name and page number. From there, Fair Use should keep us on the up-and-up.

  • This Board Requires Multi-Logins
    • Everyone is required to have at least two accounts on the board in order to play. One account is for OoC. The other account is for your first character. Every character beyond the first requires a new account. This is to manage post-counts across multiple characters. Each character-account must link back to their administrative account in their member profile, and each OoC account must link to each of their IC accounts.

  • Terms of Service Clause
    • In order to make an account here, you clicked on the "I Agree" portion of registering, which references Zetaboard's Terms of Service. If at any point, you feel something allowed by our rules is in violation of Zeta's ToS, please deffer to the ToS.
