China and Global Currency

As you all read - on the main blog, China is supporting the yuan as the new global currency.

This will ultimately create a backlash throughout the world because China would then have the ability to "own" us like Corporate America does.

Need your thoughts and opinions on this situation so that we can begin forming a storm about it.

Thx

International Monetary Fund To make the world currency? Or is it the Chinese Yuan? I think regardless a single world currency will exclude anyone/nation w/o the ability to invest in the currency, enabling a greater separation of the classes more so than what we currently see. We would have two classes, the Haves and the Have not's. This is not good under any circumstance.

Correct, the thought of the "Haves vs the Have nots" has been around sense coin first came into being. As we know, the have nots just found other ways of barter. The thought of a one currency world is something coming down the road of life at us all. Still it is a ways off. Something like five to fifteen years from the info I know about. Big differences in time I admit, big differences in ways of bringing a one currency world about also. Without trying to change the subject,a look at to what effect the trade deficient plays in this turn of events might prove of interest. Just a thought--Van No Avatar

decided to jump in the trade imbalance side for a minute, It looks as if pointing the finger at China at the moment may be the wrong direction. The worsening of the US economy is falling on he backs of the industries in need of foreign oil, and our rampant over indulgence on everything. As a nation we are severely lacking the balance needed in our Exports, if the nation is afraid of a world currency becoming the standard, American grown industry and trade needs to balance out.

Perhaps the Government and the American people need to stand down on consumerism, stop this dead end known as the New Roman Empire!
This country according to the numbers is seriously becoming the equivalent of the dreaded third world. But the people are so blinded by the virus of consumerism that we are not going to stop in time.
Unless we can find a way to break the "American" mind and bring everyone back to the dark reality, I fear this country is doomed.

Any other thoughts?
