Well, this one is the most important guide I'll post ever, so if you're reading this, keep doing so! This will have a basic idea over the faction system here, and some rules with them. First off, what are factions? In Wanderers RP, factions are the groups that are around in the universe. There's thousands of them, and they're just about everywhere. Normally (not always) they have a goal, such as the famous Universal Police Corps goal to protect the universe from forces of evil and to stop all crimes. Like characters, factions have alignments determined on what they're like. Universal Police Corps would obviously be Lawful Good. However, unless stated, you don't necessarily need to be the same alignment as your faction. Now, can anyone create a faction? It's not just allowed, it's encouraged. Does your character work for a Planetary Defense instead of Universal? Make the new one! We want to expand on as many of these as possible, and we feel that since factions are super important for characters, we do not want you to feel forced to fit your character into a previously made Faction if it doesn't fit them. How impactful are Factions to characters? That varies on both the faction and the character. For example, with few exceptions, Universal Police Corps are to be focused on their job at all times, so you shouldn't join them unless your character is made to sspecifically hunt down criminals and whatnot. However, The Sneaky Bastards are a group that may never meet each other, they are simply an alliance of wanderers. For these characters it could simply just be a side thing. And can you be in more factions than one? Of course! As long as it makes sense to be in those factions, you can be in any number of them. Also, factions may have side factions, so if you're in Universal Police Corps side faction Alpha Watch, you would be listed as both Alpha Watch and Universal Police Corps. Also, your character can join, ditch, or create factions, so don't feel limited to just what you started with. |
