Here's going to be a short guide about Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) and how you can use them, or how they must not be used. First off, there are various types of NPCs, but they are all classified into three main branches in Wanderers. Who-Cares are NPCs that make a few appearances, and they may impact a few threads, but they have little (if any) long-term impact. These can be used by anyone, can be made by anyone, and do not need any special character pages for them. Connected NPCs are NPCs that are normally connected in some way to a PC. Maybe they are the brother, or parents, or enemy, or anything important to the character. These may even just be friends that they constantly rely on and visit in other planets. These don't need NPC pages, however it is highly recommended that they have them if they're going to be in at least 1/6 of the character's threads. That or any more means that they are highly important to the character's story, and it would be easier for everyone to keep track of. These belong to you, and without your permission cannot be used by anyone else. Important NPCs are the ones that you don't touch, ever. These are admin-made NPCs who are super important and normally are made for plot purposes. Admins control these, and while you can request a thread with one, you will never be able to control one. That's the basics of NPCs. Also, if you are in a thread with someone and they introduce NPCs, you may want to make sure it is alright with them before you control the NPC in any way, as they may have plans. |
