Biography Section - Backstory
John was born as second son of Butch Thorburn, a notorious gunslinger renown for his accuracy but despised for his drinking habits. His mother was a Mexican whore whom he shared no personal bond with. John spent most of his youth just outside the border of the United States on Mexican soil. Here he learned to shoot form his older half-brother Martinez. John was, at a certain point in his life, dubbed the best shot in the state up until he lost this title in a friendly competition with his half-brother. In the aftermath of the tourney he challenged a member of the Mexican law-enforcement agency. Some say it was because of a personal rivalry while other, more viable sources, claim it to be the product of a drunken rage caused by his defeat at the hands of Martinez. The duel ended in a decisive victory for John. His triumph, however, was short lived when the authorities found a mortally wounded fellow officer bleeding out, calling Johns name. This caused an abrupt ending to Johns fame. he fled land-inwards to avoid prosecution. Here he met an old gunslinger by the name of Jack swift. Jack took the now adolescent fugitive under his care in exchange for some personal favors. These favors consisted mostly of chores around the house, rustling cattle and guarding the newly acquired livestock. The old gunslinger continued to train the now adult John to perfection in hopes of him continuing his legacy. The two of them went to a journey across the border, into the united states, where the visited multiple sharpshooting tournaments. It was here that John acquired his golden engraved six-shooter. The old gunslinger grew weaker overtime and died peacefully in his sleep during their stay in saloon. John, now homeless, took his mentor's Winchester repeater and set out to wander the great plains, accepting bounties for a living. His bounty hunter career eventually saved him enough money to buy small property just outside town. Here he met a young woman whom he later married. His reputation however, caught up on him and by the early spring he and his wife had to flee from their safe-haven. It was a hot summer and a rainy fall, the winter was cold as hell. His wife died in the spring, after being exactly one year married tuberculosis got the best of her. John moved back to his former town, seeking vengeance for all that made his life so miserable. He continued taking bounties, rounding up small thugs and petty thieves before moving up to the big league, taking out gang leaders and bank robbers all for the sake of justice. His extended service record as successful bounty hunter caught the eyes of local authorities..
