Alphas- The Alpha wolves of a pack are the head, or the leaders of the pack. They are the absolute authority regarding anything and everything within the pack, and are to be respected at all times. There is only one Alpha male and one Alpha Female, which are mated together. It is the duties of the Alpha to maintain the pack, it is their responsiblity to keep it together and working as a whole. As such, they are the main rule makers, although if it is important the rest of the pack members may request that a rule be changed or made if necessary. They are also the main enforcers of the pack, having to make sure the rules are upkept, and that respect is kept within the pack to each of the packmates. They will make sure that all respect is given where it should be, even if they have to fight to make sure of it. They will discipline any wolf that is not in line.

Betas- There is only two Beta wolves, one male and one female which are mated to each other. Beta wolves are second in line, only outranked by the Alphas. They must be shown respect by all other pack members that are lower to them. However, the Alpha's say is the main word, and not even a Beta may overrule them. When the Alpha's are away, or incapicitated the Beta's take temporary lead in order to keep order. All duties and responsibilities fall onto them to take over until the Alpha's can resume them. They are also the ones to accompany the Alpha's when a visitor or intruder comes onto the pack territory.

Elders- Elders are the wolves in the pack that are older, the ones that can no longer hunt or scout, or perform their duties due to their age. They are also the wolves that can be counted upon for their great wisdom. All wolves in the pack are expected to give them respect as they are all part of the council that make important and crucial decisions. They are also required to show the Alphas and Betas respect, however all other wolves may find themselves nipped at or reprimanded if they are not doing something correctly

Healers/Shamans- Healers and Shamans are the next in the pack ranking order. They may not have the physical prowess to hunt or protect the pack, or the stealth and skills to be a scout, but if they can heal others with magic, herbs or any sort of manner they can be included in this. However if it's that they just know a few herbs that are good for healing such, that won't count, they must be skilled in their area of healing or rituals, to be counted as such because these are the ones that are counted on for a lot of important duties. They are to generally help maintain the packs health, and other such things, including mating and also performing the duties of midwives. These wolves recieve the next highest amount of respect. They are not able to boss anyone around unless it is within their specific types of duties however. Healers/Shamans also double as denmothers for the pups if they do not have anything to regarding the rest of their duties.

Scouts- Scouts are on the same level in the pack ranking order, but their jobs are quite different. Scouts are the wolves in the pack that have a variety of duties around scouting, stealth, and other such types of activities. Depending on the prey scouts are sometimes the ones that find the prey, they also are the ones that will alert the others to the presence of intruders in their territory, will scout out further than the territory in order to find out information they may need, or act as assassins if needed. Any wolf that is a scout must be good at masking their presence, including their scent, and tracks, as well as they must be able to move silently.

Hunter/Warrior- Hunter/Warriors are the muscle of the pack ranking order, on the same level as the Scout. Their duties generally include being the ones that track, and hunt prey for the pack, as well as they are the guardians. These are the wolves that have to be gone through in order to get to the rest of the pack, and their prowess must be on battle. Hunter/Warriors, must be able to wield weapons, as well as use their claws and fangs very well.

Omega- This wolf is the lowest in the pack ranking order, except for the pups. This wolf has no specific duties as they are generally only in this rank due to having done something quite bad, yet not bad enough to be driven out or killed or they need to learn pack life and have yet to be assigned a rank according to their abilities. Every other wolf has authority over the Omega, as they are also in this position in order to learn pack life and learn to be part of the pack, although unreasonable behaviour towards them is not allowed. This is the wolf that the duty of caring for the pups if the healers are unavailable falls to.

Pups- These are the wolves that are too young to be in any position in the pack ranking. During the day while the pups parents are busy doing their duties all pups are cared by the Healers/Shamans or Omega wolf, depending on what is occuring at the time. While growing up, all pups are taught about pack life and are constantly having their abilities observed and encouraged, for the day that they are placed in an official position.

The best way for a pack to work, and keep itself alive and sufficient, is to have respect. All packmates must have respect for each other, and treat everyone like they are vital members of the pack, because each and every one is. It is a crucial attitude for all to have and all members must strive to keep respect important.
