I would have to agree with that. The Cold War is generally regarded as the period of conflict, tension and competition between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies from the mid-1940s until the early 1990s. Because it never became an open conflict it is called "cold". |

OOC: Well, that's the "official" declaration of the Cold War. Nevertheless this does not mean that it didn't start earlier. IMO nuking the Japanese cities was already the first battle of the Cold War. WG |

OOC: How does dropping an atomic bomb on japanese cities constitute a non active or "Cold" war? Additionally I do not believe that the US did that in the hopes of stopping communist expansion. |
