Here's the PM discussion that in all probability triggered his hasty departure:

He took it personal. In fact it is my fault. I`m pretty sorry. I offered the Nordic Defence Alliances an non agression pact. He say it as an alliance with the USSR. If anybody is interested come to chat: Correct Chat adress |

Dude, your not the reason, the reason is that Simon properly could not accept that someone left NATO in this time, because he found it utterly ASB, shortly after Sweden proved to him that it was infact not, he simply said to himself ( most likely ) " screw it " and left. I far from think its the USSR's fault. PS: The link you gave us is the one that is not private i'm afraid. |

No, but it seems that he deleted the UK and then rejoined as the UK. So that it is a cleared player. I think we should talk about how we should advance. |

It's much more my fault than yours if we are trying to pin blame on anyone here. If I had said "Ok, I'll tell Denmark to stay in NATO" instead of asking for an reasonable explanation of his claims he would probably have stayed. |

Simon tends to be wildly irrational. So it goes. I would like to see Simon stay in the game, but I would also like to see Simon be more rational and reasonable in the process. Simon coming, Simon going, Simon coming, Simon going...it's not good. Simon either needs to either go for good, or stay for good. And Simon either needs to come to grips with the fact that everything cannot go according to his master plan, or he needs to go because it's not going to happen. I don't see how this breaks anything. It's extremely, extremely irrational move. Especially after paying to have the advertisements removed. I mean, as I look at that, I'm confused. On one hand, Simon doesn't want a Scandanavian Defense Orginization which is more the plausible. MORE THAN PLAUSIBLE! Not ASB in the slightest. It doesn't break the game, and if anything makes it more interesting. Yet, on the otherhand. Simon is living in a fantasy world when it comes to his own nation. A fantasy world where...already fully developed nation is undergoing double digit GDP growth year after year. In the face of the winter of 1946. In the face of a financial crisis which brought a post war recession to the UK. He taxes the Dominions into oblivion, but expects them to grow at ridiculous rates. He extracts money from them for his freakin' space program, but expects them to grow. He ignores stuff like...a brutal civil war in Burma that was ongoing now. He invests billions upon billions into his Dominions, but takes no hit in his GDP. He ignores the heart of Africa and the developing world that led to the demise of the United Kingdom, ignores the communists, ignores the will to become fully indpendent and GET RID of their colonial oppressors. He ignores the fact that maintainance was absurd, and there was a financial reason to get rid of the colonies. Yet, it all goes one way. Up! Everything goes up in the UK in the face of history. That is the most ASB aspect that's ongoing in this game. Simons GDP is where it was in real life, in 1962 right now. That's fucking crazy alien spacebat. The UK, since the war, has not had GDP growth beyond 8% in a single year. Not once. There's absolutely no non-ASB explanation. It was my hope that everything would eventually fall back into line, and take a more realistic course. But I don't think it was going to. And I was going to sit here bighting my tongue for the rest of the game. Treading water just to try and maintain while the UK grew at 15% year after year after year. But hey, if he wants to leave because Scandanavia wants to form an alliance? If that's what the end game is supposed to be...so be it. It's not a big deal. It's not at all a game breaker. The bigger game breaker is an economic system that heavily favors one entity in a totally ASB fashion. 15% growth, year over year, for a developed country, ruins any notion of game balance. I would ultimately like Simon to play. But to be more reasonable and realistic. To be more cognicent of history. And cognicent of the situation that was occuring in his "Dominion" states. But hey, what are you gonna do? Simon is back and forth. |

Well, I have nothing to add to what Ethiopia wrote. I agree with every single sentence there, also the wish to see Simon stay since I have a high regard for his knowledge of the period. |

I agree to Ethiopia. Today I learned the four steps of being a good group: Forming Storming Norming Performing I think we are currently in the Storming phase. But we will advance to the Norming phase and then we will perform no doubt. |
