I want Simon to stay too. But I want balance. I've talked with Equuleus a number of times before about this, and funneled a ton of information his way on lots of matters. From taxes, to unrest in certain locations that has been neglected, to historic GDP growths. As well as information on what happened in the UK post WWII to try and get him to pressure Simon to fall back to earth. It didn't work for whatever reason. One thing I brought up was the concept of an infinite wealth loop. Which is what has been created. The US continued Lend Lease, and gave early Marshall Aid plan. And in the process, recieved no hit. The UK got an enormous GDP boost from this, 8% over real life the first year, and damn near 20% from reality in the second. 13% in the third. That's monstrous. Meanwhile, the US grew at historic rates. So where was the downside? Simon has pumped in astronomical amounts of money into the dominions. Perhaps 10% of his GDP. Perhaps 15%? When you look at arms, aid, projects that has put into South Africa, Rhodesia, New Zealand, Burma, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya, Eritrea, Arabia, India...it's an...astonishing sum of money. Just astonishing, and way, way removed from reality. But where is the downside? The US didn't continue Lend Lease for a reason. That's because it was a burden on its economy. So we stopped it. In the process we hurt the UK budget to help ours. If Lend Lease helped the UK in game, it should have hurt the US in game. It shouldn't be an infinite loop of donating and investing money from point A. to point B and both sides getting benefits from it. That's not how aid works. The UK didn't support their colonies because it was too expensive. Their entire idea was to funnel money into London. Not to funnel money OUT of London. It was too much to maintain, it took to many troops to keep the peace, the colonies were a money sink to London. And in the game, the money that may have kept the colonies happy is going into them...but at no cost to the motherland... Another infinite wealth loop. Both of which benefit Simon substantially. Now, it was okay for a few years. But if this were to continue...it would just...kill the balance of the game. It would destroy it. It's one thing to want to keep your colonies. It's another to ignore the cost to the motherland in order to keep them. If Eq and Simon want their colonies...the motherland should suffer for it. That's real life economics. That's real. Simon is a super intelligent guy, and I don't see why some of these thngs are blowing his mind and generating him to make irrational decisions. I don't see why after ten minutes, we decide to quit the game. People need to calm down. Remember when I talked about listening and communication? Yeah. We need to get a grip here. If Andi can calm down, and listen, and communicate, why can't Simon? It's crazy talk. To the rest of you. If something goes bad and you don't like it. Take a day or two off. Then come back when your head is clear, and talk it out rationally. We need to keep things stable here. We need to keep things in a real world balance. |

Agreed, again. Concise, well-founded and to the point. We should keep it real, on several levels. A group of players discussed this situation on the chat USSR posted on the previous page and we all agreed that this game should continue. We need a new GB if Simon remains out, but that is not in any way reason enough to end this game. We have a very interesting story brewing here and enthusiastic players who add to it. I for one would love to see where it goes next

Ooh, the UK is up for grabs?
Anyways, I would like to see him stay, he has been my main consultant on prices and stuff.. Maybe our presumption of why he left is all wrong? Maybe it was something else, unless you all are referring to some information I have not seen... |

Let's wait and see what the remaining admin says when he sees this. Poor EQ... what a mess
[CLICHÉ] It is said that the Chinese ideogram for "crisis" is made up of two characters signifying "danger" and "opportunity". This is actually not really true, but I like the idea and I see opportunities in this situation to make this game better. [/CLICHÉ] |

If Simon is indeed gone, which I am very, VERY resistant to believing, who will be taking over the commonwealth (i suggest a commonwealth player), who will be taking 1 of his many stewardships, and if a strong player doesnt take control THE BRITISH EMPIRE WILL FALL! |

Why should we try to get Simon back? He left. It was his will to do so. We should understand this a chance for change in the game. |
