We accept the nomination as the leader of the UN effort, and we also would like to point out that Yugoslavia is in No way there for political, nor influential reasons.

If it comes to it, Yugoslavia will ofcoursely cooperate within a seperate orginisation, if a Soviet Veto comes in to play.

We are there to save lifes or atleast help them to a better place.

Yugoslavia offers 5 brigades, and a jeep/truck regiment.

If more field hospitals are needed, Yugoslavia is more than willing to offer them for service aswell.

If the Netherlands chooses to help the humanitarian effort, we will offer to reestablish diplomatic ties.

The Turkish government supports any solution to help the people there except having a state as leader there, which is involved in economic deals in that region. That means Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and the USSR are excluded. So if the Swedish are forced to act without the help of the UN, we will support them.

The USSR is not invested in any kind in this nation. We just offered development help in building up the infrastructure in Ethiopia. Neither more nor less. - USSR

OOc/ Yes you are. You are developing FIVE oil blocks in the Ogaden region. Plus you are developing the ports and highways.

Ethiopia believes that the best solution is for non-aligned nations that do not have any colonies in the world or Africa take control of the situation.

Communication is limited in these area's, but from what is being reported, it is our judgement that no less than a battalion's worth of troops would be needed.

Perhaps a couple hundred troops at each refugee camp. We wish for there to be only enough troops on the ground at designated refugee camps to ensure the safety of these people.

We will provide prefered locations for these camps as soon as possible.

So according to the Ethiopian assessment the mission could be accomplished by non-aligned nations such as Yugoslavia and Sweden contributing a battalion each, supported by a Yugoslav field hospital and a Swedish reconnaissance/liaison flight in the area, all under Yugoslav command reporting to either the United Nations or directly to the Ethiopian Government.

Shall we vote on this then?

With the veto of the USSR the UN failed in her first action. So we support any solution by the Swedish an Yougoslavian governments by circumventing the UN.

Because of the Soviet veto this mission will be performed as a trilateral agreement between Ethiopia, Yugoslavia and Sweden. The latter two states will contribute a battalion each, supported by a Yugoslav field hospital and a Swedish reconnaissance/liaison flight in the area, all under Yugoslav command reporting directly to the Ethiopian Government.

The first company of the Swedish battalion will arrive by air soon thanks to the newly organized Swedish Air Force long-range transport flight.

Britain is not able to support any suggestion involving Soviet forces in Africa.

Our own forces in Sudan will be augmented by Imperial troops and Commonwealth contingents and we will undertake private discussions with Ethiopia as to the best resolution of the issue.

The suggestion of a Soviet led humanitarian effort, and any soviet soldiers on African soil was turned down, so we do not know why the British veto this humanitarian act.

The USSR is not better than a imperialist nation, as it vetoed a humanitarian effort.

We are sickened by this
