The following members of the Transitional Government have been elected by the government as head ministers to the King. Minister of Defense - Wudineh Zenebe - Tigrean Minister of Transportation - Hailu Shawilis - Amhara Minister of Education - Abdi Said Abdillah - Afar Minister of Health - Abebe Zelelew - Oromo Minister of Economic Development - Meles Merkinball - Amhara * Minister of Finance - Mekete Debalke - Oromo * Minister of Mines and Energy - Gashaw Zergaw - Amhara * Minister of Electricity - Dirba Ariqo - Oromo * Minister of Agriculture - Liku Damtew - Amhara Foreign Minister - Amha Selassie ------------------- These elections reflect the Kings demand that politicians who head ministries be masters in their craft. The foreign minister, for instance, is the son of the much revered Haille Selassie. The minister of Economic Development, the Kings son, has a doctorate in Economics. The idea behind pushing such a process is to ensure that those who know their respective fields best, are put in place to guide policies and allott funding in the future. |
