Well, I am at the moment privy to some information I don't really feel I have the right to share it, but it should come out soon, and it might answer your question. |

I sure did. I told you that I didn't WANT you to leave Scandinavia. There's no reason to get into the reasons why, but I'm pretty sure I never told you, "No Wolfy, you're not playing Comecon". I never said, "Wolfy, you either stay in Scandinavia, or you leave." I am just generally against people hopping around. But if it comes down to losing you versus having you hop around, I'd much rather you play Concom than not be here at all. I never told you no. I tried to disuade you from doing it. But I never told you no.
That's a load. The reason this game is so unbalanced is because of Simon's doing and Simons will. Operation Winter Storm is the perfect example of that. The deck was stacked before this game even started. But there's no reason to go into all that. All I'm saying is that the idea that Simon went out of his way to keep things evenly balanced is a total farce from top to bottom.
His best to what? Stack the deck in favor of the west? Grotesquely inflate his economic recovery? Ignore the economic problems that the Kingdom faced during this period of history? Insist on falsehoods like (35% tax rate in my dominion is a low tax rate and it should have 16% annual growth). Come on. That's how this game got so unbalanced in the first place! Simon's economy was a decade ahead of history a couple years into this game. Yet, he had a nuclear weapons store during Winter Storm that could have "wiped USSR off the map." For the west its been a one way street. He wasn't micromanaging anything. He was either playing igorantly, or trying to pull wool over everyones eyes. It was HIS ACTIONS and HIS pressure that made things so incredibly unbalanced if you're a communist eastern nation. Irregardless of what actually transpired in history. And everytime I tried to introduce something realistic, or criticized what was going on, I got shit on for it for trying to balance everything out. Even now as I have tried to balance out some of this I STILL take flak on all sides.
I dunno. Ask yourself that. Eq is running the US. He doesn't seem to privy to changing the course of the US. Everytime I mention something to bring the UK back into line it gets shot down. Make military budgets more reasonable? No we can't have that! Inflation crisis? That's unfair to Matt. Currency crisis? It's not Matt's fault that the UK got so unbalanced, you can't do that. So on and so forth. THe US is not exactly too far ahead of where it should be. It is ahead, but not in a really unbalanced manner. Just in the military equipment they are pumping out which isn't terrible provided Eq pays additional money for this (Andi and I have been discussing this the past week.) The real problem in my honest opinion is the UK. The progressive unbalanced nature of growth in the early game, the military technology, the nuclear arms, the space program . It all just accelerated out of control, and it's so bad now that in order to bring things back into balance that the UK would have to be stagnant for a good decade. One thing is for sure, things aren't really too hot on the triple beam balance when Andi farts and the UK can obliterate him with nukes in 1950. |

NOOOO! One day out of action and then this happens. Please stay. Yes, there must be much to be discussed. Like the tech advancing. Andi made a good proposal: starting of a new technological developement of a thing is possible 10 years earlier, but then it lasts 200 % of the time (and thus 200% of the price). So if someone wants to develope weapon X in 1960 instead of 1970 in reality (starting of the technological developement each) and that lasted 5 years in RL it will last 7,5 years in game time. That is a good base to discuss. We also have to discuss the costs of technology, too. But that will be very problematic as we have few RL costs of developements. Please reconsider your leaving.
