DATE HELD: June 6th, 2017 on EVOLVE Network LOCATION: Rad Rocker Hotel in Tokyo, Japan COMMENTATORS: Laurel Anne Hardy, Winston Robinson MATCH ONE VS. ![]() This was a fast paced match between the young Ghanaian and the New Zealander. The veteran Don God found himself somewhat flummoxed by the young trickster, Anansi managing to keep out of the former King’s reach for the most part, but as he launched himself into Don with a Crossbody, Don snatched him out of the air, cradling him, before spiking him into the mat with his Divine DDT (Spike Cradle DDT), allowing him to get the three count. Winner: ![]() MATCH TWO VS. ![]() This high flying spectacle between two of the world’s most exciting young aerialists didn’t fail to disappoint. The pair moved with eye watering speed, putting on a show that was as much gymnastics as anything else. Kai, the more more experienced of the pair, managed to control most of the match, at least until a lucky Kopfschuß (Running Single Leg Dropkick) from the German managed to catch him in the temple, rattling him. Kurt quickly followed up by running to the corner and leaping to the top turnbuckle in a single bound, launching off with a Tod von Oben (Moonsault Double Foot Stomp), only to miss as Kai kipped up. Kurt staggered from the impact to his ankles and shins, and was defenceless as Kai pounced, connecting with a Sitout Shiranui, hooking the leg for the pinfall! Winner: ![]() MATCH THREE VS. ![]() Boaz, the Kingpin of RISE Pro, evidently hadn’t encountered a striker of SFIYA’s calibre previously. The veteran Indonesian schooled the developmental fighter in her ability to use her whole body as a striking surface, not just her hands and feet, leaving the BANG Style fighter disoriented, and seemingly out of his depth. Sensing his discomfort, SFIYA pushed those boundaries, antagonising the young wrestler where possible, wearing down at his confidence as much as anything else. After dropping him to a knee with an Oblique Kick, SFIYA ran the ropes, coming back with a Springboard Roundhouse Kick, only to be surprised as Boaz surged up, pushing her off balance in the air, and catching her with a modified BANGarang (Pop-Up Knee Lift)! He quickly rolled her up, using the ropes behind the referee’s back to gain extra traction, and to score the upset pinfall over the veteran! Winner: ![]() MATCH FOUR VS. ![]() The popular PRADA was over with the local crowd from the start, his flamboyant style appealing to them over Li Chen’s more rough and ready all round style. They laughed and cheered as he showboated for them, whilst simultaneously frustrating Li Chen. If anything, it just made the Canadian-Taiwanese star more aggressive, and the moments where she was able to gain control even more dangerous for the Korean supermodel, Li Chen embracing the “bad guy” role the crowd had painted her into. A Reverse STO delivered straight into a turnbuckle had PRADA shriek about his face, quickly moving onto the defensive, but that just allowed Li Chen to take more control, and she quickly overpowered the concerned wrestler, eventually managing to catch him with a Spike DDT, before adding insult to injury by quickly transitioning through to a Guillotine Choke, with PRADA quickly tapping out to avoid injury, to a hail of boos from the crowd. Winner: ![]() MATCH FIVE VS. [/URL]One thing we were left with no doubt about: even when representing China, Ai was considered a solid fan favourite for the Tokyo audience. Delighting at the young star’s return to the ring, her match against Artemis Kaiser’s least favourite wrestler™ was fast paced, and largely one sided. DAB tried, but was thoroughly outclassed. Ai showboated a bit, ultimately taking DAB off of his feet with a Gamma Ray Burst (Running Bicycle Kick), before delighting the crowd with the return of her Dynastic Elbow (Running Delayed High-Impact Elbow Drop, with theatrics), and picking up the three! Winner: ![]() MATCH SIX VS. ![]() This David and Goliath bout had the fans on their feet for the most part. Hometown favourite Suzume Mitsuyoshi was undoubtedly over with the crowd, but the fun loving Irishman did win over his fair share of the crowd. Fraser certainly had the edge with strength and power, but this was waylaid by Suzume’s technical expertise, and frankly unbelievable toughness. The local crowd, well versed in her current war with Junya Fujimiya, enjoyed the change of pace in this match. Fraser gave her a good match, but found himself outclassed by the CCP Television Champion, eventually finding himself trapped in a Hakai (Crossface/Scissored Armbar Combination), the big man tapping out not long after. Winner: ![]() MATCH SEVEN VS. [/i]It was clear from the start that Manchester born Tommy didn’t buy into Andi Takata’s hype, quickly taking it to her in the hope that beating a woman from the stars would help launching him to the stardom he desired. Andi proved to live up to her own hype, however, and the pair found themselves whizzing around the ring like a pair of bees, flying off the ropes, the turnbuckle, each other, even the referee at one point. Eventually Andi managed to catch Tommy with a Low Dropkick to the shin, dropping him to a knee. She screamed for the Shining Star (Step-Up Knee Strike), but Tommy ducked the telegraphed move, quickly kipping up before catching a disoriented Andi with the B of the Bang (Double Underhook Backbreaker). Tommy bent over to pick up Andi, but found himself suddenly trapped in a Katamari Roll (Rolling Death Cradle), rolling Tommy around the ring a good five times before spinning over into a kind of bridge, to get the pin! Tommy was obviously disappointed, and dizzy, in the aftermath, rolling out of the ring annoyed with himself as Andi celebrated. Winner: ![]() MAIN EVENT VS. ![]() It may have been nearly 3 years since Angela Jameson set foot in a ring, but she didn’t overly show it, stepping in like she’d never left. That’s not to say she didn’t have any ring rust, and the little that she did exhibit, Xiu Li Cheng made sure she took full advantage of. It’s not everyday you get to take out a wrestling legend, after all. Xiu Li and Angela went back and forth for a good while, and it looked like Xiu Li might pull off the second upset of the night when she landed her Shadow Vortex (Diving Corkscrew Enzuigiri), but Angela managed to force a rope break. This led to a big fightback from Angela, eventually leading to her connecting with The Widow Maker (Leg Trap Sunset Flip Powerbomb), holding on and just about getting the pin for the win!
