LOCATION: Oslo Spektrum, Sentrum, Oslo, Norway
COMMENTATORS:Kevin Carrey, Winston Robinson

MATCH ONE
Jade Malling (Trinidad and Tobago) vs. Ymir Ocampos (Portugal)

Jade Malling, considerably more rested than her prior World Cup outing, was in a much stronger position tonight, and had Ymir on the back foot from the go. Ocampos fought back however, catching Malling with a stiff sequence of Suplexes. Running the ropes, Ymir went for a Black Rain (Springboard Clothesline), but Jade caught her out of the air, landing her with a Jadelock (Omoplata Crossface)! Ymir struggled, but there was nothing she could do, as Jade picked up the submission victory.

Winner: Jade Malling

MATCH TWO
Markus FK (Switzerland) vs. RUUD (The Netherlands)

RUUD tried to take control, but struggled against the Swiss Powerhouse. How did he respond? With all the kicks. Markus struggled to defend himself from the heavy strike offense, allowing RUUD to nearly seal the deal early with a Snake Eater (Cobra Clutch Suplex), only for Markus to get a boot on the ropes. Markus fought back, using his strength to ragdoll RUUD a bit, the Netherlander surprised at being overpowered such. It seemed fairly even all the way down the line, but it was Markus who sealed the deal, eventually managing to put RUUD away with a You're FK'd (Triple Powerbomb) for the 3.

Winner: Markus FK

MATCH THREE
Anna Giovanna (Italy) vs. Vera Kozlov (Russia)

This contest demonstrated the stark contest between Anna's stiff strikes, and Vera's technical expertise. Vera took control early, causing significant damage in the opening minutes, nearly taking the match a few time with her devastating submissions. The Saltiest Woman in wrestling evidently wanted it more, however, as she beat Vera dizzy, finally ending things with a stiff Golden Elbow (Discus Elbow Strike) to advance to the round of 16.

Winner: Anna Giovanna

MATCH FOUR
Angela Jameson (Spain) vs. Lyza Reyes (Costa Rica)

The battle of the Spanish speaking nations was surprisingly close, the ever dominant veteran, Angela, struggling to get hold of the Costa Rican Comet that was Lyza. Angela was strong and steady, but Lyza's energy kept her out of harm's way for the most part. As the battle wore on, however, Lyza's pace slowed, and Angela's slow and steady approach began to pay dividends. She had Lyza right where she wanted her... until Lyza managed to catch her off guard with a Gravitass (Jumping Hip Attack). Lyza fought back, digging deep for something, anything... and managed to pull out the win with a Pura Vida (Shooting Star Press), stealing the win from under Jameson's nose.

Winner: Lyza Reyes

MATCH FIVE
Crystal Alvarez (Puerto Rico) vs. Rex Evans (United States of America)

Rex Evans went into this one hard and fast, looking to prove his position as the US candidate. Crystal stuggled somewhat under his offense, somewhat rattled as Rex gave her a taste of her own medicine with a Brute Punch (Superman Punch). She did her best to fight back, chipping away at him as she could, but Rex was on a tear, powering through her strikes. He felled her with The Drop (Military Press Double Knee Gutbuster), before heading to the corner, stalking her... and tearing in with an Unstoppable (Spear), but Crystal vaulted over it! Rex was completely off balance, even as he got back up and ate a KO Queen Special (Three Left Handed Jabs to a Right Hook) for his trouble! Stunned, he was unable to cover up in time to resist Crystal's mounted punches, and was even more in trouble as she transitioned to a Ruthless Aggression (Crossed Leg-Trap Triangle Choke), even going as far as to start kick his head... and forcing him to tap out!

Winner: Crystal Alvarez

MATCH SIX
Darragh O'Connor (Ireland) vs. Lowri Moss (Wales)

Darragh came out brash and full of bravado, but Lowri didn't care. Quietly subverting his attempts at physical dominance, she frustrated his efforts from beginning to end, forcing him to get more desperate and reckless throughout. He caught her solid with some strikes, but nothing substantial enough to put her away. Getting more desperate, he sent her to the ropes, chasing after her... only to eat a Slice Of Heaven (Springboard Enzuigiri). A few more minutes of strikes got Darragh groggy, and a Nos Da (Rolling Cutter) was enough to seal the deal.

Winner: Lowri Moss

MATCH SEVEN
Dante Cutler (Jamaica) vs. Zack Jones (Greece)

This highly anticipated bout was everything it promised to be, as the two agile former World Champions got to it. Nearfalls came thick and fast for both sides, and before long the action spilled to the outside, the crowd dazzled by the acrobatics of the pair out at ringside. For every Platinum Kick (Yakuza Kick) or Spinning Philadelphian (Tornillo) from Zack, there was a South London Waltz (Standing Moonsault Slam) or Uncanny Valley Driver (Death Valley Driver over the knee) from Dante. It seemed like neither of the two would stop... but eventually one had to. Zack managed to daze Dante with a Zacknado (Tornado Enzuigiri), and used the opportunity to pull him up over his shoulders, looking for a Sober Up (Fireman's Carry to Roundhouse Kick)... but as he dropped Dante off the Rhythm kept hold of him, spinning round and planting him with The Creator (Reverse STO)! There were a few moments where neither man moved... until Dante flopped over Zack, and scored the 3, Jones getting the shoulder up half a beat too late.

Winner: Dante Cutler

MAIN EVENT
Anastasia Starling (Poland) vs. Kickass Smurf (Smurf Village)

The Bird and the Smurf had a lot to live up to following the previous match, but they sure gave it their all, flying around and across the ring at full pace. There were plenty of glancing blows from both competitors, but nothing substantial enough to turn the tide in either's favour, at least until Ana managed to catch Smurf with a Springboard Polish Hammer! She looked to follow up with a Senton Splash, but Smurf kipped up! A high speed exchange followed, Smurf connecting with his own Smurfin' Bird (Springboard Crossbody)! A rapid fire exchange of pin attempts ensued, but still neither was able to make it stick... until Ana set up Smurf in the corner, charged in, and hit nothing but post, allowing Smurf to catch her with a SMURRRFFFONBALL!!! (Cannonball Senton)! He dragged her out for the pin... but she grabbed hold of the ropes! He held her out in a bridge, Ana holding onto the ropes with both hands... until Smurf yanked hard, looking to transition to a Powerbomb maybe, only for Ana to spin round and catch him with a Headscissors Takedown! Smurf quickly rolled up... Our Lady Peace (Spinning Bicycle Kick)! Smurf dropped, as Starling kept the momentum, running the ropes and coming back with a Sturnidae (Running Shooting Star Senton) to take the fall!

Winner: Anastasia Starling
