LOCATION: Horncastle Arena, Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand
COMMENTATORS: Andrew Wilson, Janine Starlin

MATCH ONE
.PAAK (South Korea) vs. Mariano Fernandez (Argentina)

This match got going quickly, with .PAAK coming out swinging, looking to flatten Manny before he could get going. Solid strikes disrupted his game, allowing to South Korean delegate to dominate throughout. That’s not to say Fernandez didn’t get his licks in: a Flying Forearm here, an Arrow To The Knee (Low Dropkick) there, but none of it was enough to put a stop to .PAAK’s Strong Style Seoul Train. Again and again, though, the Argentinian’s luck held out, and a strategic combination of rope breaks and kickouts kept him in the game, even as .PAAK found even more deadly ways to blitz him upside his head. He managed to block a Doze Trigger (Spinning Backfist), but the effort staggered him. .PAAK used the opportunity to set up for a BLACK.OUT.SABOTAGE (Cut-Throat Argentine Piledriver), showing some incredible strength… only for Fernandez to slip out of the grip, rolling down her back and hooking her into a High-Speed Schoolboy! He stacked his weight on top of her, and the combination of that, surprise and confusion gave him the win to the complete shock of the crowd. He quickly rolled away as the bell rang, getting away from the angered Korean. As .PAAK stared daggers at him, he gave her a shrug, asking “PROBLEM?”, the crowd joining in, further infuriating her.

Winner: Mariano Fernandez

MATCH TWO: NEW ZEALAND SHOWCASE
Katie Hanley vs. Oliver Wilson

These two put on a great show in the New Zealand World Cup qualifier, and the rerun was no less spectacular. A tightly fought technical spectacle, Oliver was keen to even the score between the two, especially with his father looking on from the commentary booth. Near falls went back and forth freely, from both pin attempts and submissions, Katie getting especially close with a Switchblade Kick, only for Oliver to grab to ropes at the last moment. The bout continued on, Oliver clawing his way back into contention, only for Katie to catch him entirely by surprise with a Spinning Sitout Sleeper Slam! She backed up just enough, and he got to his knees she let rip with The One Kick To Drop Them All (Superkick to kneeling opponent’s head), only for Oliver to catch the leg! He brought her down with a Dragon Screw, before locking in the Southern Cross (Haas Of Pain)! Katie struggled against the hold, but quickly accepted she was done for, and tapped out!

Winner: Oliver Wilson

MATCH THREE
Kenzie Rowe (Canada) vs. Lowri Moss (Wales)

Lowri Moss tried to put her weight advantage to use early on, but Kenzie, with the edge both in experience and aggression, was having none of that. Arrogantly she took control of the match, and of Lowri, using her agility to effectively control the Welsh wrestler. Regardless of this, Lowri wouldn’t give up, kicking out of every pin attempt Kenzie made, even off of her infamous What The Fuck Was That? (Handspring Corkscrew 450° Splash). This got the New Zealand crowd excited, but Kenzie? Kenzie just got mad. Getting more and more blatant with her rule bending, she earned a couple of reprimands from the official, but nothing she couldn’t shrug off. Lowri even got the upper hand for a minute, until Kenzie managed to catch her with the Halifax Explosion (Huracanrana Driver)! Kenzie went for the pin, using the ropes for leverage… but the referee caught her! The two got into a standup argument, the referee seemingly about to disqualify Kenzie before she turned her attention back to Lowri… catching a Breuddwydion Melys (Superkick) for her trouble! Kenzie dropped hard, and Lowri was quick to cover her, utilising an Oklahoma Roll to get the job done, leaving Kenzie and the crowd shocked at what seemed to be the second upset of the night.

Winner: Lowri Moss

MATCH FOUR: WCS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Evangelista & Kickass Smurf vs. La Ángel de la Paz & Rebecca Hendrix (c)

The champions from HELL may have seemed ready, but the challengers from SSWA were too much for them from the off. There are few relationships in wrestling closer than Evangelista and her Smurf, and that bond was apparent here, as they worked well together to counteract even the strong friendship of Rebecca and Ángel. The champions fought hard, nearly picking up the win with a German Suplex/Seated Senton combination on Evangelista, that Smurf broke up at the very last moment! Ultimately, however, it wasn’t enough, the end coming with Smurf tossing Ángel from the ring whilst Evangelista floored Rebecca with a Battlegrounds Uppercut (Head Hold European Uppercut). The pair then ran the ropes, catching the seated Rebecca with a Stevie G (Running Kick to back of seated opponent’s head)/SMURRRFFFONBALL!!! (Cannonball Senton) combination! Evangelista dropped for the pin, whilst Smurf went flying over the top with a Smurfin’ Bird (Springboard Crossbody) into Ángel to keep her at bay, and let Evangelista secure the win!

Winners: Evangelista & Kickass Smurf

MATCH FIVE
Anna Mathews (Gallifrey) vs. Lyza Reyes (Costa Rica)

High speed? Check. Gravity defying? Check. All kinds of crazy? CHECK. The frenetic showcase between these two world starlets had the crowd on the edge of their seats, as the pair tried to outdo each other with their acrobatic antics. Whilst Anna scored a couple of big hits early, it was Lyza who picked up the first real pin attempt, flooring Anna with a Cosmic Voyage (Frankensteiner), only for Mathews to kick at 2 and a bit. Save the early opportunity, the match was pretty much spent in high speed deadlock… at least until Lyza caught Anna up on top, and got her set up for her Quantum Connection (Avalanche Belly to Belly Suplex)... only for Anna to break free with a surprise headbutt, before sending her crashing down with an Oncoming Storm (Avalanche Double Underhook Brainbuster), leaving the crowd in a state of shock as she picked up the three! The shock soon passed to applause, as the Kiwi crowd gave the two women a standing ovation for their efforts.

Winner: Anna Mathews

MATCH SIX: INTERGALACTIC SHOWDOWN
Andi Takata vs. Jillian Clay vs. NoVaK vs. Shagga

From one interstellar traveller to four more, the battle for intergalactic supremacy was, unsurprisingly, fierce. With the action refusing to be contained to the ring, all four competitors found themselves at numerous times with great opportunities, only to be thwarted at the last moment. Highlights included Andi’s near pin over NoVaK following a Shining Star (Shining Wizard), and Jillian driving Shagga’s head into the ring steps with a Bestrafen (Running Knee Drop to back of kneeling opponent’s head). Andi Takata got on a bit of a tear towards the end, however, coming in red hot and clearing house… until Jillian and NoVaK suddenly revealed they had joined forces, forcing her back into the ropes, before Jillian sacrificed herself to take both of them out of the ring with a Crossbody. NoVaK seemed happy with this, at least until he was blindsided by Shagga! The starmonster hooked him up for a Dwell Beneath (Inverted Suplex lift to Headlock Elbow Drop), but as he leant down he got a faceful of Red Asian Mist for his trouble! The firey liquid disoriented the beast, allowing NoVaK to bring him up, and then down, with an As The Sun Dies (Kneeling Back-to-Belly Piledriver) to seal the win in the name of PROCYON 8.

Winner: NoVaK

MAIN EVENT
Blaise Fader (England) vs. Dante Cutler (Jamaica)

The main event certainly ended up as everything it promised, as the two British stars went to town representing their respective nations. It seemed, at least early on, Dante was unprepared for the raw power of Blaise, Fader taking an early lead, but as the match went on it became apparent he was, instead, looking to outpace her, playing a long game. Indeed, he drew first blood, dropping Blaise with a Rolling Thunder Cutter, but when he went to follow up with an Electrifying Gravity (Standing Shooting Star Leg Drop), she rolled clear, leaving Dante to land hard on the mat. Blaise took advantage, hitting the ropes and coming back with a Rock n’ Rolla (Cannonball Senton) to the seated Dante! That was just a taste of the back and forth between the two, each ready to exploit any flaw in execution, any mistiming, to capitalise big style. As action built up, it was Blaise who struck decisively, sending Dante face first into the corner post with a Fade-Away (Fallaway Powerbomb)! This left him slumped on the pad, allowing Blaise to spin him around, looking the end thi-THE CREATOR (Leaping Reverse STO)! Dante hit the Creator out of nowhere, drilling Blaise… and allowing him to pick up the win! Blaise was quick to her feet after the fact… and the first to offer her congratulations to Cutler, holding his hand up for the cheering crowd before leaving him to enjoy his moment.

Winner: Dante Cutler
