2nd Round Match (15 Minute Time Limit) Nem vs Sergei Orlovsky The two big men kicked things off by walking towards the center and staring each other down. They got nose to nose before they started trading shots with one another. Nem eventually caught Sergei with a headbutt that allowed him to take early advantage. Nem hit a powerslam and looked to keep the fighter grounded through his attack. But the Russian began to fight back, getting the audience to boo him. He took down Nem with a lariat before he went for the cover and got a two count! Sergei made sure that Nem could not get to his feet as he landed multiple elbow drops and even tried an armbar, only for Nem to break it up by grabbing the nearby ropes. This allowed Nem to come back into the match because as soon as he got to his feet, Sergei rushed forward and was met with a big boot. Nem then targeted the head of Sergei as he planted him with a DDT, then later a piledriver. Nem went for the cover a few times, but Sergei kept kicking out repeatedly. Sergei regained control near the end of the match and showed some viciousness in his forearm strikes. He went for his patent pop-up uppercut, but Nem proved too heavy to launch up in the air. So Nem grabbed Sergei around the throat and headbutted him again, this time tossing him into a corner. Nem then took a few steps back before charging in, only to miss with a corner splash! He then turned right around into a modified Red Sky before Sergei went for the cover and got the three count! Post match, Sergei got a Russian flag and waved it to massive boos from the audience. Winner: Sergei Orlovsky (14:11) |

Izzy, quick on her feet, kept the attack going on TCB, making sure that the LDFC fighter could not fight back. Zelda took control early with a headlock takedown, but her offensive attack didn't last long as soon enough, Cross was able to escape her attempted Camel Clutch submission. When Donnie connected with a discus elbow smash, he managed to catch Zelda right in the nose. forcing blood to gush out. 2nd Round Match (15 Minute Time Limit) AKIRA Kaede vs CruZe Before the match could even start, SSWA Pure champion Clue made his way out to the commentary table, getting a glare from CruZe. The match kicked off with CruZe and AKIRA locking uo, but AKIRA quickly caught CruZe with a kick to the gut that keeled him over, followed by an elbow to the back of the head that dropped him. AKIRA continued to aim for the head throughout her attack, the commentators joking that she was trying to give CruZe a concussion (which she might have been). CruZe eventually caught her with a suoerkick that floored her! CruZe went for the cover and looked over at Clue, but only got a two count! Using his high flying ability, CruZe kept AKIRA grounded, but made sure to constantly look over at Clue, who just sat there and watched. Eventually CruZe started mouthing off to Clue, but Clue motioned at him to keep wrestling. Clue seemed to be a good enough distraction for CruZe that he was almost pinned for a three seconds later, AKIRA getting him into a small package. AKIRA then had a short burst of offense, but it was killed when CruZe dropkicked her through the ropes and out of the ring. This is where things got interesting as CruZe exited and waited for AKIRA to get to a knee before hitting his Cibernetic Kick, knocking her out! CruZe rolled AKIRA back into the ring at 5, then turned his attention to Clue. who had gotten to his feet. CruZe shouted at Clue to sit down, but Clue refused. This lead to the high flyer getting into Clue's face and the two men hawing each other. It also lead to the ref counting to ten, counting CruZe out! When the bell rang, CruZe looked at the ref in stunned silence before turning towards Clue. He then slapped Clue in the face, leading to Clue retaliating with a forearm smash! Quarterfinal Match (30 Minute Time Limit) Gage Kaiser vs Macy Dover Dover and Kaiser locked up in the center of the ring to kick off this Day Five Match of the Rookie X Tournament. The Western Ronin quickly gained the advantage and began pushing Dover back, punishing her with stiff knee strikes to the body as he backed her into the ropes. Tossing her into the far corner, Kaiser went to charge in for a big boot in the corner, but Dover ducked out of the way, leaving him to be in an awkward position as his leg was caught on the top rope! Dover takes advantage and drops down, chop blocking Kaiser while he was trapped and brought him down hard. Yanking him back up to his feet, Dover attacks the leg again as she latches on and brings him back down to the mat with a Dragon Screw Leg Whip! She goes for the pin, but only gets a count of one. Dover continues to mercilessly go after Kaiser’s damaged knee, working it over and using the ring as a weapon as she slams it forcefully against the ring apron. Dover grunted and glared as she moved in to try and pick back up where she left off, but got caught coming in with a big uppercut that rocked her! Kaiser got back up to a knee and saw that he had her stunned, before he shot in and hooked her leg and head in a cradle, then dropped her with a Bridging Belly to Back Suplex! He had the pin, but was only able to get a two count! The match went back and forth, with both competitors trading near falls as they struggled to put the other away. Kaiser had fought back into the match despite the injured knee and had rocked Dover with a series of hard strikes that sent her into the corner. He went to lift her up, thinking Bioshock as he had her in the electric chair hold. Before he could complete the move, his knee gave out from underneath him, causing him to drop The Former Rising Star Champion and smash face first into the top turnbuckle. Dover recovered quickly, bouncing off of the rope and blasting Kaiser right in the face with a huge Bicycle Kick. Kaiser was out as Dover hooked his leg and went for the pin - but Kaiser gets his foot on the bottom rope, breaking it up and keeping the match alive much to Dover’s annoyance. Dover went for the Mace to the Face, but Kaiser rolled out of the way at the last moment and she got all canvas. Quarterfinal Match (30 Minute Time Limit) Izzy Anders vs Sergei Orlovsky Before the match, Orlovski smirked down at the much smaller wrestler in Izzy. With nearly a foot of height and almost 120 Pounds of difference on his side, it was clear that The Rising Star Champion wasn’t intimidated by the challenge Izzy brought. For her part, she was unphased (As much as one could be) as well, matching his look with a determined glare. As soon as the bell rang he shot forward, slamming into Izzy and sending her crashing into a corner. He began ramming his shoulder into her midsection repeatedly, ignoring the referee’s attempts to pull him away. Finally standing up, he yanks Anders out of the corner and drops her with a wicked Short Arm Clothesline. Orlovsky drops down and goes for a pin, but Anders manages to get her shoulder up right before the two, keeping the match alive for the time being. Orlovski kept control of the match with a frightening ease, tossing Anders around the ring and giving her no chance to get in any offense. He picked her up onto his shoulders, going for a Military Press. Izzy struggles in his grip, before she manages to slide down his back and lands on her feet and begins firing off with the stiff shoot kicks to his right leg! The former MMA Fighter backs off, trying to swat her away as she continues her hard strikes to the leg. Nailing Orlovsky with a palm thrust to the jaw, she jumped up and drove her knee right into his side to double him over, then bounced off the ropes and hit a running European Uppercut that finally took the big man off his feet! Izzy quickly goes for the pin, but Orlovsky powers out and tosses her away before the two count. Izzy looked to end the match a few moments later, lining up The Rising Star Champion for The 540 Kick. As he managed to get up to his knees, she leapt up at him and went for the kick - but Orlovsky moved and shot in, wrapping his arms around her waist and catching her before she could complete the 540 Spin! Standing up, he lifted her onto his shoulders in a Torture Rack position and pulls at her head and legs, punishing her back! Izzy screamed out in pain, but refused to give in. Suddenly, The Lynx broke his own hold, slinging her around and dropping her right on her head with a Powerbomb! The crowd gasped as he dropped down, looking confident as the referee counted the pin - and only got a count of two and a half as Anders kicked out just before the count of three! The crowd cheered loudly as Orlovsky looked murderous, getting up and backing the referee into a corner as he heatedly argued the two count. Growling, he walked back over to Izzy and picked her limp body up off of the canvas, looking to end things once and for all. Tossing her to the ropes, he caught her on the rebound as he went for The Red Sky - Izzy managed to avoid it and flipped over him, latching onto the right leg desperately as she attempted to go for a Kneebar. Orlovsky tried to kick her away, but Izzy tripped him up, rolling up the big man - She got the pin! Izzy Anders got the win! She quickly rolled out of the ring as Orlovsky went ballistic in the ring, not believing that he was caught off guard in such a way. The referee helped keep her steady, and rose her arm in victory as she advanced to the next round. Winner: Izzy Anders (19:19) |

He had already charged forward and caught her with his running single leg dropkick, aka Southern Charm! Both women scrambled to their feet, but Macy caught Izzy with a kick to the gut before hooking her head. Donnie snuck up behind Macy and leaped up, catching her with a jumping reverse bulldog, while forcing Macy to hit a DDT on Izzy as she came falling down as well! Donnie went for the cover on Macy, but she kicked out at two! He then went for the cover on Izzy, but she kicked out at two as well! Around the 20th minute, Donnie hit a double underhook DDT on Izzy and went for the cover, but she kicked out at two again! He then changed his attention to Macy, hitting a bulldog on her half a minute later before going for the cover, only to get another two count! During the 22nd minute, Donnie grabbed Izzy and tossed her through the ropes and out of the ring before turning his attention back to Macy. He went top rope and leaped off, connecting with a diving headbutt on her before going for the cover and getting another two count! Donnie slapped the mat in frustration, but kept on going. He quickly exited the ring around the 23rd minute and grabbed a groggy Izzy before planting her with a sitout facebuster on the ground outside! In the 24th minute, Donnie hit a sitout jawbreaker on Macy inside the ring before he went for the cover frantically, only to get another two count! Donnie, feeling desperate around 25 minutes into the match, went to the corner and hopped on the middle turnbuckle, then on the top, before leaping off and attempting a double jump moonsault, only for Macy to get her knees up at the last second! Seconds later, she caught a kneeling Donnie with a shining wizard before she went for the cover and got a two count! Izzy entered the ring again around the 27th minute, but she was caught with a European uppercut that floored her! Macy went for the cover, but Izzy kicked out at two! A minute or so later, Macy hit a broncobuster on Izzy before she went for the cover, but Izzy kicked out at two again! Around the 29th minute, Macy went top rope, surprising the fans, before taking out Donnie Cross with a missile dropkick, sending him out of the ring! A minute later, she caught Izzy with a bionic elbow that floored her before she went for the cover, only to get a two count! Seconds later, Macy went to a nearby corner and motioned for Izzy to get to her feet. Once Izzy did that and turned towards Macy, who ran forward and attempted a Dover Drop, only for Izzy to fall back down onto the mat before Macy could reach her, exhausted. Macy quickly grabbed her, smiling, and hit a vertical suplex on her! She went for the cover, but Donnie came in and stopped the count at two! He then grabbed Macy and got her up to both feet, but she caught him with a high knee strike from out of nowhere! Around a minute later (the 33rd minute of the match), Macy caught Izzy with a DDT before she got to her feet quickly and motioned for Izzy to get to her feet! Once Izzy did get to her feet and turned towards Macy again, Macy charged forward, looking to connect with the Dover Drop...only for Donnie to blindside her with a running single leg dropkick, aka the Southern Charm! The audience popped as Donnie slowly got to his feet after that, letting out a sigh of exhaustion...before he got caught with Izzy's 540 Kick, Capetown Sunset! The Kentucky audience cheered loudly and watched as Izzy frantically covered Donnie, hooking both of his legs! The audience counted with the ref as he counted ONE....TWO....THREE! The bell rang and Izzy let go of Donnie's legs before she slowly got to a knee. The audience roared massively in approval as she began to tear up while getting to her feet. The ref raised her hand to a standing ovation from the audience and she slowly dropped back down, physically exhausted. Winner: Izzy Anders (34:43) After the match was over and done, Macy, followed by Donnie, followed by Izzy made their way up to Barrett Keaton Huff, the Callaway Brothers, and some GFP reps, who were on the stage, a large trophy with them. Macy stepped up first and Barrett announce that due to the outstanding attention this tournament got, second place would be receiving...$20,000 instead! A GFP rep then handed Macy a $20K check, getting a scowl from her as she would have preferred to have come in first. BKH told her she did fantastic during this tournament, but she just shrugged off the compliment. Once she left, Donnie stepped up and was awarded the 2nd place prize as well, getting a $20,000 check as well from Richard Callaway. BKH patted Donnie on the shoulder and told him he did a fantastic job before he thanked him, then looked out at the audience and thanked them as well. Izzy, still tearing up, stepped forward and BKH smiled as he told her she did a fantastic job and that she should be proud of her Rookie X Cup victory. He then handed Izzy her trophy and she raised it to cheers before BKH told her that since the 2nd place cash prize was changed, so was the 1st place one. He then handed her a check, which she read before shouting out loudly "$50,000?!" The GFP reps, CCP owners, and SSWA GM all nodded and Izzy began hugging them all, overcome with joy. She apologized, but they shrugged it off and told her to enjoy the celebration. Izzy grabbed her trophy again and raised it once more, high and proudly, the audience chanting her name as the Evolve Network special ended with a smiling Izzy raising her trophy. |
