This is a change Taylor, James and I all spoke about wanting to do. It was getting too difficult to accept new file mods as they required A LOT of trust because they had mod permissions for the whole forum, and had the authority to accept cerebra files. Due to that, we always had to make sure those we chose had complete and total understanding of what should and should not be accepted. Even then, there was still room for some slight mistakes to be made. So we decided to rework the position! From now on the position will be called FILE ADVISOR and will have the following guidelines:
- Help new and old members write, edit, and prepare their cerebra files. You will be able to comment and tweak files to make sure they have the proper requirements and limitations.
- Help members with structuring upgrade/purchases. Similar to files, you will also be able to help people when applying for experience purchases. (NOTE: You will NOT comment directly on the posts, instead you may help them on discord or through habbo/pm)
- You will not have the ability to solely approve someone's file. To have a file approved, it will require admin approval. However, you're there to help speed up the process and prep it for approval.
- This position is purely OOC and is here for those who are creative and wanting to assist the RP and new members to join! That being said there are perks. If you're actively helping a new member with their file, you are much more easily going to get that referral which gives you XP.
This position will be open for those to apply. To do so, send either Taylor or myself a PM on the forum showing your interest. We're looking for about 2 more people to bring on as file advisers. This position won't interfere with any IC position such as Brotherhood Officer, or Instructor. Don't put off applying if this is something you'd be interested in! |
Recently we've began to notice that choosing to apply for instructor may detract from other aspects of the roleplay, and essentially forces the person applying to have both of their 2 allotted character focused in school. We also noticed that having instructors fighting in NYC against BH at such strong starting levels discouraged those from choosing the hero path for their second characters. So we decided to make a couple key changes to the position which we think will be to the benefit and satisfaction of the community and roleplay overall.
- Starting now, Instructors will no longer contribute towards your character count. Instead, think of them as an additional character slot unlocked for this specific position. This means you're able to have an instructor character, as well as your two allotted characters.
- Being a Brotherhood member will no longer prevent you from applying for an instructor position.
- Instructor characters will have a specialized hero license called a Hero Instructor License which essentially means they will no longer have permission to do active patrols and battles outside the institute. If you wish to do this, make a vigilante or hero character with your second slot. They will be allowed to come save/defend students if they are under attack, but that's the limit of their capabilities. Doing more than this will get them fired and their license revoked. We want the instructor characters focused on teaching and mentoring the students, and not fighting villains.
- Instructors should aim to teach AT LEAST two classes and/or sims a week. If you don't hit this every single week, or you're going to be away for a week here and there, that's okay. However, consistently not holding any classes or sims will get you removed from your position. You are also capped at 1 sim and 1 class MAX per day. You may hold multiple rounds of the same sim so more people can do it, but you can only hold unique simulation a day.
- Instructors who RP harming students or are unrealistic in how they RP will be removed if there are enough complaints. Simulations and classes are supposed to be fun and educational. If you're making overly traumatic simulations just to do it, you're going to end up getting in trouble.
We hope these changes inspire more applications for instructor positions. Please make sure to use the template and PM it to us in order to be considered. If you have already sent an instructor application, you will need to resubmit it. Going forward, please do not send instructor applications unless we have specifically opened them. It makes it hard to track. We will let you know when we're accepting new instructors and when to apply. This time around we're looking for anywhere between 1-3 new instructors.
You can find the template located here. |
| HEROES, VIGILANTES, AND VILLAINS |
| This is just a quick reminder that you're capable of having a hero, vigilante, or villain as your second character. We're looking to spark some more NYC roleplay by introducing more pro heroes and other out of school characters. These characters can be an adult of any age past 21, and you're granted five applications for your power when applying instead of the normal three. For more information you can read up on it here. |
