So I’ve registered and agreed not to post adult content here, essentially just to say I’ve got an empty head regarding food. What do you guys normally have? We need to work out how to divide it up so we bring our half. I planned to do some general food shopping next week. Nibbles and such. Rob will have all kinds of specifications and requirements no doubt. I haven’t asked him. He normally likes a ham and some other kind of meat. Shall we bring whatever meat we decide between us to have? |

Well, quite, this is a family forum after all! We plan beef and turkey.. Kelly's bum explodes when she eats ham so we were planning to give that a miss, but it's easy enough to boil one if you guys want to bring one. We're planning plain sprouts, sprouts pan fried in garlic and chilli, boiled carrots, roast spuds, parsnips and sweet potatoes, creamed leeks, Savoy cabbage, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings. Regarding pudding, I'm not a pud guy, and Kelly does not like xmas pud however she wants pudding, a chocolate roll or a cheesecake or something. Very very happy to cook a xmas pud if you'd like to bring one.. or perhaps you could bring pudding period? We had also thought that we might ask you to get the turkey (crown) and the crackers? |

Fuck, shit, Gravy! Ok, file this under "hosting folk from the North." I'm guessing Rob is particular about his gravy. Kelly normally makes a (very) think gravy from granules. Dooo.... you guys want to bring / sort out gravy? Any other crazy 'frozen wastes of the North' shit that you Picts get up to? I've only done Yorkshire puds twice in practice, both times following the BBS good food guide, which, miraculously worked pretty well... As far as I can tell! |

Ok. So we can do the turkey and/or the beef very happily. Neither of us like Xmas pudding so let’s go with a chocolate log or similar (rofl) which we can also happily get. Rob would like pigs in blankets and mash. We will sort both of those. And also we will bring some fancy pants gravy. I couldn’t give less of a crap if I tried personally, but he does love his gravy So we’ll let him knock himself out with that. Will get mash ready made to save hassle. Crackers for cheese? Or pulling? |

I was on the fence about pigs in blankets. Could not find cocktail sticks anywhere so if you want to bring em thats cool. Ready made mash sounds lovely! I'm making a gingerbread house. Kind of assumed we could decorate it together on Christmas Eve xxx |
