[tabs][tab=Preamble]Greetings, welcome to the Project Suicide roleplay. The goal of the staff members is to make your roleplaying experience as fun and as comfortable as possible, and that is what we will see to do through the creation and enforcement of the following rules. This, however, will be double-sided relationship. What this means is that while we staff members will do our absolute-very best to enforce these rules, you members have to take it upon yourselves to try your absolute-very best to follow these rules. We desire for this roleplay to see a good time and a long time here on the retro, and that won't be possible with an unruly and unorganized community. We're not saying that you can't have fun, but just keep in mind not only roleplay regulations, but also your common sense and empathy when interacting with fellow members of the community. If you as members feel like there are any amendments that should be made to the rules and regulations, feel free to let a staff member know. We will consider the proposed amendment, but that does not mean we will necessarily approve of it if we don't believe that its worth adding. We want you all to feel ready and willing to give us suggestions and keep open minds to you all, but remember to be as respectful as possible when you do think that there is a problem. We're less likely to listen to whining and aggressive motions. Thanks guys.[/tab][tab=Behavioral Rules]- Be Respectful: Now while there are some younger members in our community, we are for the most part mature teenagers and/or adults. That having been said, it shouldn't be too hard to restrain yourself and respect not only the staff of this roleplay but your fellow members.

- Help & Respect Newcomers: A trend that tends to happen in communities that have been together for a good amount of time is that they behave in a rather hostile manner towards newcomers. Treating them with insane amounts of disrespect because they are "noobs." A lot of times these are the same people who tend to be all nostalgic about how roleplay used to be, and how much they are upset by the way things are going. Well, rejecting newcomers won't help extend the life of the community and you could be turning away great potential! So please, be kind to newcomers, help them out. We won't take disrespect towards them lightly in the slightest. It's the internet, no one should have to jump through hoops to earn your respect here.

- Troll-free Zone: Now, I can understand the occasional joke biography and acting stupid and childish. We all go there, and in moderation it's not so annoying. But, when you continue to prod at people and act like a fool to the point where it can be considered legitimate trolling, you'll be warned. Don't wanna stop? Find another place to roleplay.

- No Bullying: This one might sound a little strange, but you'd be surprised at the amount of legitimate cyber-bullying that occurs (or maybe not). You may not always be aware that you're being a bully, but if someone asks you in all seriousness to lay off, then just lay off. Staff won't be taking very kindly to bullying, and the punishment for it will vary in severity depending on how often and how great the offense is.
[/tab][tab=Roleplaying Regulations]- Simple actions in this roleplay such as eating something, drinking something, coughing, etc. do not require a specific amount of words to the line to be considered valid. However when the actions are combat or major-activity related, they require a minimum of 5 words to be considered valid.

- This roleplay is emote or desc. Which roleplay style is used is entirely dependent upon the agreement of all involved parties. However, any major storyline scene or event keeps the action restricted to a strictly emote-only basis. The emote style the roleplay uses will be slightly different from what you may be used to as well. An attacked party may decide of a hit connects, but the effects of the hit are entirely up to the attacker (such as if one is to fly back, hit the ground, receive bruises or broken bones etc.), however they must keep in mind what kind of damage they could realistically do to another person when deciding what effect their attack has.

- Metagaming is strictly prohibited within this roleplay. For those who do not know, metagaming is granting your character knowledge of something he or she would not ordinarily have. Looking at someone's file and fighting their character while being prepared for every move would be considered metagaming unless your character could in actuality hack into the files to find out.

- Power-Playing is strictly prohibited within this roleplay. For those who do not know, power-playing is controlling another roleplayer's character without that roleplayer's consent. This applies especially in emote, in that you cannot roleplay the effects of your attack on another occurring, but you can still let the other roleplayer know when the attack is launched what should happen based on their character.

- This roleplay has a low tolerance for unrealism. Emote is not necessarily all about alternating turns and allowing yourself to be hit just to even the battle out. Its also not all about dodging or successfully defending against everything because you don't want your character harmed. Its about realism. If someone realistically wouldn't hurt your character or be able to touch them, roleplay as such. If someone realistically land just about every hit they throw at you on account of being faster than you, roleplay as such. If you truly want your character to remain harmed stay in your league and avoid fighting people who would crush you if possible. Staff has the right to make final claims on fight scenes if massive amounts of unrealism is noted.
[/tab][tab=Rules on Death]In Comic RP (for our little group at least), death is ruled as optional for any scene that is not a story-line scene, where you may not be given a choice. Death can only occur in certain circumstances;
  • You consent to being killed in a scene.
    This means that if you decide that during a fight, you want your character to die; you can let the opposition know so they may rp their characters actions appropriately. This needs to be a joint decision; as you cannot force your death on somebody without it being their intention.

  • You wish to kill somebody in a scene and they consent.
    Equally, you may ask somebody if you're allowed to kill them during a scene and they can answer you yes or no.

  • You repeatedly intentionally put yourself in critical danger.
    If you are roleplaying a peak human and constantly try to body-block blades and bullets for other people; you may be ruled as dead for the sake of idiocy. You may be let off this or allowed to change your decision after being told the result. This also includes incorrectly responding to a dire injury (such as a lost limb).

  • A storyline scene where a staff member has deemed your situation too dire to escape.
    To give storyline scenes weight and meaning; characters have to die. Yours may be one.

Why do we do this? Simply because being forced into an unavoidable death is not fun nor inherently realistic. All recruits would have been intensely psychically evaluated; and if they were unstable or evil enough to intentionally kill another recruit, they simply wouldn't be here.
