Recorded History
This section describes the earth after the dawn of recorded history. The most important events have been placed into periods called Epochs. A single epoch may span years, or even decades. While it is not common for major epochs to overlap, it does happen, and the minor epochs overlap with major ones more often than not.

|
The Fjär Rike
The Fjär Rike is the westernmost region of Fjärr, and is made up of the territorries governed by the Fjär Kung. The hierarchy of this region is similar to that of Messar, with Jarls governing the regions for the Kung, but with the Kung maintaining absolute power over them.

Earlean Territory
Situated in central Fjärr, the Earlean territory is home to the Earlean race. It is a land of acceptance, as the Earleans (who are technically Messaran citizens) find themselves aligned with the Fjär and Fjärrmän in equal parts.

Fjärrmän Territories
The Fjärrmän Territories are some of the most hostile places on the continent for a Messaran. This region is home to the Fjärrmän tribes, and dozens of clans, which are constantly engaged in conflict. When traveling through the territory, one should keep their weapons sheathed, their presence peaceful, and remember where they stand: at about half the size of the natives.

Messar |
|
Silver-Shoal
The Silver-Shoal region holds the Messaran west coast, but also contains the marshlands that are located to the west of the Brittle-Hills. It is a poor region, with most of its inhabitants making a living as fishermen. There are practically no trade opportunities in the region, so the natives are mostly self-sufficient.

Dire-Steppes
The Dire-Steppes is considered one of the most hostile areas in Messar. It borders Fjarr to the North, and is a region dominated by open prairies. This means that Fjarran fauna often finds its way into the region, as it is very similar to their homeland. The same is true of Fjarran refugees, as well as raiders. This region is home to many forts, and soldiers who are prepared to confront the threats at a moment's notice.

Brittle-Hills
The mid-western region of Messar; this area is mountainous, and is well known for the danger it presents to travelers. The mountain slopes are covered with scree, a type of loose stone. This leads to common landslides, and finding solid ground is a very difficult task indeed.

Warding-Woods
Covering most of southern Messar, the Warding-Woods region is a heavily forested area, home to much wildlife. The forests in the region are the meeting grounds for the coniferous forests that cover most of Messar, and the tropical rainforests of Shale.

Heavy-Helm
The Heavy-Helm region is by far the largest region of Messar, though nearly a fourth of its territory is disputed by Fjarr, which borders it to the north. Being the capital region of Messar (and home to the royal family), it has more military personnel than anywhere else on Yalas.

Whale-Roads
The Whale-Roads is the region that holds the entire eastern coast of Messar. It is a very rich area, ripe with established trade routes to the other races. People often retire to this area, and many Mesegans travel from Silver-Shoal to Whale-Roads in search of a better life. Unfortunately, the area is also home to many smugglers and criminals.

Kāinga
Kāinga is the ancestral rohe of the Shael'Ahn, which they have occupied for thousands of years. Unlike Teina, traveling through Kāinga is seldom a death sentence, unless the travelers damage the area. That being said, just as in any part of Shael, one is always watched by countless eyes.

Teina
Raau a to Tatau Teina, or simply 'Teina', is the ancestral rohe of the Kalshir'Ahn. It dominates the lower third of Shael, and is undoubtedly the most hostile place on Yalas. Only Kalshir'Ahn may travel through it freely, unless they are accompanied by a Kalshir'Ahn guide.

Matua
Matua is home to an isolated population of Kalshir'Ahn, who have had no contact from anyone for well over 800 years. They maintain this isolation by killing any non-natives who step foot onto their territory, including the Kalshir'Ahn of Teina.
