What words can be used to describe the Mesegans that have not already been hurled at them as an insult? Words like 'cunning' or 'roguish' insinuate criminality; and while this is the case for many, it is not true for all. Whether deserved or not by the individual, nearly all Mesegans boast the same set of skills, which are often viewed as cowardly or dishonorable by the other races of Yalas.

They are a savvy people, who prefer wisdom to knowledge. A scholar may be able to explain why storms form on the open ocean, but a Mesegan can sail through them completely devoid of fear. They gather this wisdom through practice and experience. They choose to dive headfirst into jobs and careers, as opposed to studying them beforehand. While most Mesegans are a conniving bunch, almost all are extremely roguish. They are a bit more lithe than their Messaran brothers, but more than that, they are much nimbler. Mesegans are said to be "more sure of foot than a Brittle-Hills Bay". They put this nimbleness to great use when navigating the riggings of trading ships.
