    How do you store photos?

A couple other topics have me curious, how do you store your photos online/digitally?

I use the new iCloud Photo Library to sync my iPhone and Macbook. Any photo I take with either one (though I use my phone 99% of the time) is shared with the other through iCloud. It required me to buy a bit more storage for iCloud (now paying $3.99/month) but it's not bad for what I get.

I'm curious how Google Photos works. I heard it's free for small-ish photos (they don't take up any of your space) but I don't know if my photos are small enough or not. Moving things around is always a hassle too.

I sync to iCloud and Dropbox automatically. Any really good ones are also Facebooked and Instagrammed. I think having them in a couple of places probably is the best bet.

Facebook and Instagram ruin picture quality. It's awful. Google Photos keeps photos up to some rather large size at the original quality, but anything larger in resolution is reduced in quality. iCloud does a nice job for those in the Apple ecosystem, but many are not nearly invested as you and me, Geoffrey. I use Dropbox, iCloud Photo Storage and Google Photos. It grew over time in that order. I started with Dropbox, then iCloud, and only recently Google Photos. All have their pros and cons, so it really depends on what pictures you take and some other factors.

Google Photos. I'm so tied into the Google ecosystem at this point, this is the only one that works for me. I'm pretty dang pleased with it though. :)

Dropbox and Google Photos for most of my photos, because I can have my phone automatically sync them. That, to me, was the biggest factor as an android phone user. I know Photobucket and other services have image syncing tools, but I don't use those services anyway... so why bother?

Plus, as others have said, I put photos I particularly like on social media.

I store most of my stuff in iCloud, including writings and such. I also have photos on drop box. And I keep copies on my computers too.

I use the new iCloud Photo Library to sync my iPhone and Macbook.
Does the iCloud only work on Apple products because I've tried storing photos from my iPhone on my desktop (HP) and for some reason it doesn't work. I thought maybe it's because it's not a Mac... :glare:

Anyways, I just keep them on my computer or on hard disks.

It works with a Windows PC that has iCloud for Windows installed on it. See this documentation: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201317

Exactly why I wanna switch over to exclusively Apple products.

I use my phone, which connects to Dropbox. My designs and stuff done on my computer stays on my laptop unless I need to release a graphics pack or something.
