Lovin the Roerig! Posts: 34 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: March 9, 2006	I hope it's ok to start an American Idol thread on our American Idol Zach's webpage . Does anyone here watch AI? If so, what did you think of Mandisa getting voted off? I'm so utterly disappointed. I really wanted the finale to be Mandisa and Chris... I'm so sad & angry and completely dumbfounded. :angry: :blink:

Advanced Member Posts: 198 Group: Admin Member #2 Joined: February 7, 2006	Well, I kind of expected Mandisa to go tonight or be in serious danger. I didn't like her at all the past two weeks. She obviously has an amazing voice. She just has not picked the right songs lately. That Shania song was not for her, and could never have shown off her voice no matter how she sang it. Chris is my favorite.

Lovin the Roerig! Posts: 34 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: March 9, 2006	I didn't get a chance to see her perform last night, I only caught the last 30 minutes or so of the show. I know last week when she did Mary Mary's Shackles I loved it. But, that song was a major circuit hit a few years ago and that's why I love it so much (the stories I could tell you about that song and a bar full of bois, LOL). I do agree that the Shania song sounded pretty bad tonight at the end of the show, I'm really very sad to see her go. Such is life though. As long as Chris is still around, I'll be happy though.

I'm usually someone who likes to look at pretty boys all day long, but there was something about him... Maybe it was the hair, maybe it was the way Paula always commented about his performaces. I dunno. But I'm glad he's went bye bye. Anybody else as addicted to AI as I am?

Lovin the Roerig! Posts: 34 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: March 9, 2006	Hopefully my Elliot love will continue into this week. I'm just rooting like crazy for Chris. I've been pretty good about predicting the winners of AI since Fantastia - so I guess I've predicted two winners. Fantasia and Carrie Underwood & I hope I'm right that Chris wins this year (I don't think he really needs it though, he'll do great no matter what because of the AI exposure).

Maybe it's the way the show presents them, but I thought he stood out. Of course, they didn't even show Elliott during the audition stages so he never developed that fanbase.

Lovin the Roerig! Posts: 34 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: March 9, 2006	Well Roger it's done and over with. I was stunned when Chris got booted off, however, I don't think he NEEDED to win AI to make it big. I was pretty stunned when Katharine made it to the finally. She was consistently in the bottom 3 (2) and I don't recall Eliot being in the bottom on results night (maybe once) & certainly don't recall him there as much as Katharine. My gut feeling going into the finally was that Kat would win, boy am I glad I was wrong! Taylor wasn't the best singer by far, however, the man was entertaining and brought something different to the table... himself. Still think that Chris should've won and that that Chris will have the second most successfull career of all the AI contestents (Carrie Underwood will be the most successfull, country is far more open than other genres). Well, here's to waiting until January for my AI fix!
