MONTPELIER, Ohio — Daniel A. Roerig, age 46, of Montpelier, Ohio, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 20, 1961, at Fergus Falls, Minn., to Agnes F Cuffe and George N. Roerig, he had been a Montpelier resident since early childhood. A 1980 graduate of Montpelier High School, he was a graduate from RENZ Technical Institute of Toledo. On Aug. 18, 1984, he was married to Andrea Wages, and she survives. Since 1995 he and Andrea have been co-owners and operators of Fackler Monument Company of Montpelier, serving the tri-state area. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montpelier, and was presently serving as Grand Knight of the Montpelier Chapter of Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Montpelier Rotary Club, Montpelier Moose Lodge, National Rifle Association and Pheasants Forever. He was a mentor to many Montpelier youth over the years. A talented musician, for many years he was drummer and vocalist with The Wishful Thinkin’ Band of Montpelier. Surviving, in addition to his wife are his parents, George and Agnes Roerig of Montpelier, Ohio; one son, Zachary George Roerig of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Emily Roerig of Montpelier, Ohio; two brothers,Jerry (Kim) Roerig of Kettering, Ohio, and Paul (Cindy) Roerig of Montpelier, Ohio; four sisters, Janice (and partner Char Chrissman) Roerig of Columbus, Ohio; Judy (Mike) Barron of Angola, Ind., Midge (Joe) Blake of Montpelier, Ohio, and Michelle (Bill) Yosick of Omaha, Neb. |
