Shi Hu Dian's Taoist rituals: Main rituals conducted at Shi Hu Dian include: a) Qi Rang [祈禳] Qi Rang is a complicated rituals that are usually conducted by an experienced Taoist priest. It requires the reading of sacred scripts and complicated movements such as:- i) Zuo Hong Shi [做红狮]; To request Deities to protect the common folks for peace and avoid major disasters. ii) Zuo Jiao [做醮]; A thankgiving ritual. iii) Zuo Gong De [做功德]; Charity works. iv) Others: i) Du Guan [度关]; Requesting Deities to assist children peaceful growth. ii) Biao Ni Mu Qian [表你姆钱]; A ritual to stabilizes one's spirits and souls to avoid sickness. iii) Xi Qi [洗契]; A ritual to help children in their sleep and avoid sickness. iv) Sai Yuan [赛愿]; A ritual for peace and avoidances of adversity and disasters as well as sickness. v) Qui Ann [祈安]; Requesting Deities to cure sickness. vi) Qing Shou [庆寿]. Deities aniversaries celebrations. vii) Qi Yu [祈雨] Prayer for rain. During dry spell, Taoist priest will conduct a ritual to call for immediate rain fall. viii) Song zai [送灾] Taoist rituals to avoid natural disaster as well as plaques and calamity. ix) zuo 'si li fu' [做四季福] Perform rituals/ceremony for the peace and properity of the four seasons. |
