This tutorial isn't amazing, but it's a great style to perfect once you get it down. This isn't a very detailed tutorial either so sorry if you don't get part of it. If you have any questions though, just let me know. Okay... so here's my outcome here:  1. choose a render http://z15.invisionfree.com/amebo_designs/...hp?showtopic=53 2. open GIMP 3. open a file to whatever size you want 4. open the render file 5. resize the render file to fit step 3 6. copy the render onto the file you made in step 3 and duplicate the whole render layer 7-10 times 7. click on the gradient tool and set it on radial gradient 8. get out the color picker 9. choose a color from the render (preferable a color that takes up most of the render (this wil be your main color)) 10. hide all of the render layers 11. go on the background layer and make the radial gradient, dragging it out almost to the edge 12. unhide your first render layer 13. make sure your first render layer is selected, then filter>distort>ripple and set the settings to something like this:  14. set the layer mode on color dodge, then move the layer to a different spot on the canvas 15. get out the smudge tool and select a simple brush (but not a boring dot) 16. smudge the render you just rippled and set the layer mode on dodge... just run the tool back and forth across the layer 17. repeat steps 13-16 on 3 or 4 more of your render layers. Make sure that you move the layer to a different spot every time. 18. do the same thing for the next few layers, only instead of rippling it, do filter>distort>curve bend and do something crazy like this:  19. ON YOUR SECOND TO LAST render layer, do the same thing as in step 18, only put it on soft light instead of dodge. 20. unhide your last layer and take out the eraser tool. Use a soft brush and erase parts of the render to blend it in. Enjoy and good luck :rolleyes: »»Jay«« |
