The busiest part of Nevaren, downtown is always alive with the sounds of the city. Countless big businesses and little shops line the streets, and Downtown Nevaren is famous for its old style sights. There are several places in which to play or hide, and though crime is generally kept low here, it is not always a guarantee that one will be safe.

A huge park that spans the entire middle of the city, Green Meadows is similar to New York’s [i]Central Park[/i]. A small road leads through the different areas of the park, though the most common walkway are the small dirt paths, covered with red mulch, that twist through the park. The roads are lit by small, black iron street lamps, and the park looks more like a lantern-lit forest than something a human built. Toward the outer areas of the park are several food and item vendors, and there is a large stage at the eastern end of the park for concerts and different types of entertainment.

Old asphalt roads, cracked and rough, lead into the outskirts of the city and beyond. The highway leading out of the city runs high, a stretch of road that spans above a massive mountain valley. From the road, one can see the vast expanse of the Naricynth forest beyond, the calls of wolves within ringing clearly in the crisp winter air. If one looks closely, they may be able to see the houses built alongside the smaller roads in the distance. It is here that many of the city’s residents, too afraid to stray far from the city, find their peaceful moments.

Croi Dubh is Nevaren’s last standing gothic-style cathedral. Though the building has been condemned long ago and the entrances at the ground floor sealed off, there are other ways inside for the more resourceful of society. The original furniture, though dilapidated and covered in decades of dust, still remains, and even some of the more resilient stained glass is still unbroken, its colour faded with time.

Deep beneath the city, a series of tunnels and huge vaulted rooms wind through the entirety of the city's span. Though these aquaducts were used in the 1500's, they are almost completely dry now, leaving stone pathways that are lit only by the punctures in the high vaulted ceilings above.

When brave enough to venture out of the city, travelers are left to wander the Naricynth forest. A great deal of myth surrounds the forest's history, and travelers are reputed to have gotten lost following shadows, or have simply disappeared. By day, the lush foliage is strikingly beautiful, the atmosphere peaceful. By night, the wolves within sing a warning cry to all those who enter.

Far out from the city is a vast expanse of rolling green hills aptly named the Emerald Moor. Where the forest meets the moor, the land is low and marshy, and further in the land grows higher. Several strange rock formations stand stark against the gray sky, said to be the entombed spirits of guardians long passed. There are no roads or human pathways to this sacred place, thus making travel there by vehicle nigh impossible. Oddly, the weather here is mild even in winter; some say the weather phenomenon is the product of the moor's current guardian.

Standing tall behind the city of Nevaren, the Ahkutenan Mountains loom as silent, snowy guardians of those who live in their shadow. I-40 runs through the pass and out of the city, though the roads are often icy and treacherous.

High above the Emerald Moor, Glas Talamh is a cliffside paradise for those of the old world. Rolling grasslands cover the entirety of the earth there, with long grasses quivering in the wind. The sky is almost always gray, static with the feeling of an oncoming storm, and the weather is mild even in winter, staying at a steady 65°. Ocean waves crash against the rocky cliffside, and those who sit on the grassy overhang are washed with mist from the water. In the midst of Glas Talamh, on the highest point in the hills, is a huge stone structure much like Stonehenge, with carvings of wolves and other animals deep set in the stone alter that stands in the middle.
