I didn't know where else to put this...

Quote:

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has hit out at the "hypocrisy" of some of his Premier League colleagues over their demand for more respect for referees.
A series of high-profile incidents of officials being abused has prompted leading managers to demand protection for match referees.

But Keane told BBC Radio 5 Live: "There are a lot of hypocrites out there.

"The same bosses talking about players showing respect have been sent off themselves for abusing officials."

Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano's reaction to being sent off by Steve Bennett against Manchester United last week is the latest in a succession of incidents in which officials have been confronted.

Football Association director of football development Trevor Brooking launched a Ģ200m grassroots football scheme last week, with the aim of recruiting more referees and improving the behaviour of players on the pitch towards match officials.

And he says a fresh approach will be looked at next season in a bid to protect referees.

Meanwhile, Keane added: "I've made it clear to everyone here - from the academy to the first team - that a lack of respect towards referees will not be tolerated.

"But I've seen other managers come out and demand respect. How can the players show respect if their manager does not?"

Keane was famously heavily criticised in 1999 when, as United captain, he led the unsightly charge on referee Andy D'Urso after he awarded Middlesbrough a penalty at Old Trafford.

lol! I love Keano. <3 I do. I mean he's crazy in the noggin, yes, and a hypocrite, yes, but he's a United legend and how could I not?

Besides...now that Jose is gone, he's the hottest manager in the Prem. :ph43r:

Well done Sunderland! :) Was surprised and pleased to see that scoreline today, thought it would be the other way around (in terms of who was leading who at 92 minutes)! Shame about the late equaliser from Sunderland's point of view, would've been great for them to beat Arsenal!!! Ah, well, they're still glad with the draw I'm sure, having expected to lose I'm certain. Well done!!

Oh, Keano's F***ing magic,
He wears a magic hat,

I do love Roy Keane! Legend!

I no he did do well for them especially when you think they were bottom of the championship when he took over and now they are in the premier league but he's left them in the shit now a bit. The first real sign of some bad times and he walks out, think thats pretty sad on he's part that he didn't have to balls to get them out of this rough patch especially when they gave him soo much money to spend and tbh he spent alot of it on crap.

 Apparently he resigned by sending a text to Quinn! Posted Image He'll never change!!
It's a shame Quinn is the chairman of the club, I love him! Top lad.

Ah, just beginners luck it seems! Let's be fair, they were only down the bottom due to bad luck I guess, so much is made of that. Still good to get them up, because they went unbeaten for a long time, but still the last minute goals, cheating and luck had to end some where!
As you can tell, I'm not Roy Keane's biggest fan!

At least he can give his little dog some more 'fuss' now!! ;)

Took the words right out of my mouth with that one...especially seeing that a good amount of the squad were rejects of other squads (how much, I don't know, I can't be arsed to count) but I also think it's Roy Keane's...temperment that got him to quit, especially after that 4-1 against Bolton, he then questions if he's the person to lead them in the post-match interview.

I guess he doesn't like crisis too much!

Oh Keano. You know I can never hate this man. He is a legend. But he SERIOUSLY makes me question his...er...sanity and sense of tactfulness sometimes.
