i dont really get why we are sending out our 3rd (or 2nd depending what you think about Gallas/Toure) best defender though. another move that makes me go wtf?

well seeing as it's a loan deal i'm not to worried, hopefuly he can gain so experience and improve.
i dont want him to leave though, our squad is small enough as it is.

i'm not worried bout senderous going on a year loan deal, we have DJ, Song, Silvestre and even Sagna (put Eboue right back) who can all play CB.

Good Luck to Senderous on his loan deal, i'm sure he'll improve providing they start him, just come back Senderous lol

ROME (AFP) - Arsenal's Swiss international defender Philippe Senderos is set to join former Gunners teammate Mathieu Flamini at AC Milan, reports said in Milan and Switzerland late Monday.

The 23-year-old Senderos joined Arsenal from Servette Geneva five seasons ago and soon became a regular under Arsene Wenger.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport said Senderos, who has two years to run on his Arsenal contract, was due in Italy on Tuesday with a view to having a medical amid reports he would initially join on a year-long loan prior to an extended three-year deal.

Swiss daily Le Matin, quoting another report in the Gazzetta, said on its website that Milan would pay 16.2 million Swiss francs (10.1 million euros) for Senderos which would make him the most expensive Swiss player in history.

I'm really quite surprised about him going to AC Milan!? I mean, he's not exactly the best defender out there and he is going to a top club like AC Milan!?! Ok then. :ermm:

Hope he does well though.

Arsenal.com still says:

Senderos expected to complete Milan move
By Richard Clarke

The loan of Philippe Senderos to Milan should be completed soon.

The Swiss defender was linked with a move to the Rossoneri in the morning’s media. It was confirmed by Arsène Wenger at his press conference ahead of the game with FC Twente. However it is still subject to the usual formalities.

“Senderos has gone to Milan,” said the Arsenal manager. “He completes a medical today.

"The thinking is that he does not get games here and [this way he] gets top-level games somewhere. We have Kolo, Gallas, Djourou, Song and now Silvestre. We have congestion in there and we want him to play without losing him.”

Wenger was asked whether the 12-month loan would turn into a permanent deal. “It is not decided yet,” he replied.

Also i think it makes since he goes to Italy because the game there suits him alot more than the english game. the pace is alot slower, which is his main weakness, and his intelligence is alot more useful there with the more tactical, calculating approach, plus he can learn from the best in Maldini and Nesta.
