He's out of cast and able to move his foot! Best news I have heard all week!!!

Quote:

ARSENAL striker Eduardo da Silva has been allowed to return to Brazil to continue his rehabilitation following his horrific triple leg break, writes Alex Sexton.

The Arsenal management agreed that the Croatian international could travel back to his city of birth, Rio de Janeiro, to continue his recovery at Clinic R9.

The clinic is owned by fellow injured superstar, Ronaldo and they two players will be there at the same time to recover from their respective knocks.

The pair will undergo physiotherapy treatment at the clinic, Ronaldo for his troublesome knee and Eduardo for his foot problems.

The 25-year-old has already met with the Brazil national team's doctor Jose Luiz Runco and physio, Olir de Souza at the Park Lane Hilton in London.

Brazil where there in preparation of a friendly against Sweden at The Emirates, and Eduardo used the chance to seek medical advice.

Next Tuesday, Eduardo will have a consultation with Luiz Runco and de Souza. They will determine a more detailed treatment schedule.

According to Narley da Silva, cousin and representative of Eduardo, The Gunners have not given the player a fixed return date to North London.

Narley said: "He is here until the day that Runco releases him to go back and allowed to touch the ball."

The striker has been out plaster for nearly three weeks now and the doctors are pleased with his rate of recovery. Since he has been back to Rio, he has started moving his foot, a big step in his recovery.

Narley added: When he took away the plaster, on the 31 of March, he was only managing to move the big toe of his foot. Today (Wednesday), he has already moved the foot a bit."

Eduardo Making Progress
May 28th, 2008 | By: Mario

When it’s labeled as a “turbo swift recovery”, I guess it’s pretty damn fast.

According to reports coming in from Brazil, Eduardo has apparently “thrown away his clutches” and started running again! That’s just three months after suffering what was believed to be a career threatening injury! Ha! Pardon my enthusiasm, but I’ve come to love and respect the guy as much as I possibly can without endangering my manly side.

His physio and a local guru Jose Luis Runcas also confirmed Eduardo’s recovery is ahead of schedule, meaning we might see him on the pitch as early as late August/early September! Now the only problem everyone might be facing is actually getting Eduardo to leave the famous Brazilian sun and come back to weather s*** Britain. If there was a mental challenge involved in all of this, I reckon this is it.
