Robin Van Persie Factfile:
Name - Robin Van Persie
Born - August 06, 1983, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Position - Striker
Squad Number - 11
Previous Club(s) - Feyenoord
Joined Arsenal - May 17, 2004
Arsenal Debut - Manchester United (n), Community Shield, August 8, 2004, Won 3-1

Robin is a great striker and has great footwork, keeps the ball under control, and can get a really powerful shot, he's a bit unlucky when it comes 2 injuries.

I hope he comes back and stays fit for the rest of the season. It's not like we're doing very badly without him, with Eduardo, Ade and Nik scoring the goals, but Robin's our most technically gifted striker. He can achieve so much more if he just stops getting injured. IMO, he can be one of the best strikers in the world. I'm really worried his constant injuries will hamper his progress :(

He's always injured for a long time in one season :( so I hope he doesn't get injured for the rest of this season ^^

Robin van Persie will return from injury for the Carling Cup Semi-Final first leg against Tottenham at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Dutch striker has played just 85 minutes for Arsenal since October 23. He injured his knee on international duty then, after returning for two games in mid-December, suffered a muscle problem. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online on Tuesday afternoon, Arsène Wenger was delighted to have the 24-year-old back in the fold at last.

“Yes Robin van Persie is back in the squad,” he said. “He had a little set-back coming back from his knee injury, it was a muscle problem. But the positive side of it is that he could forget about his knee and work on his fitness.”

Apart from that, the manager intends to stick with the young side that has taken the Club to their fourth Carling Cup semi-final in the past five years.

“Lukasz Fabianski will play in goal again, Theo Walcott is available while Johan Djourou and Philippe Senderos will play at the back,” he said. “Apart from that it will be the players who played in the last [Carling Cup] game. Basically it will be a young side maybe with one or two experienced players.”

Arsenal.com will announce the full squad on Wednesday morning.

Yes! But now, Arsene has a very difficult decision to make. Drop Eduardo, Adebayor or Robin (once he's fully fit)? I'm guessing he won't drop Ade because he likes the 'big-and-small' striker combination upfront.
So. He can't drop Eduardo (11 goals in 14 games) but what about Robin? Rotation? Once Robin's fit to play 90 minutes, does Eduardo go on the bench? Or vice-versa?

i'm not sure what wenger will do tbh, but i think he might risk eduardo, even though he's on fab form. or he might just leave rvp on the bench ... who knows, just have 2 wait and see

"Djourou was injured, Senderos is injured, Van Persie got injured. So, we had no injuries before the game started but tonight considering that we lost three players, and we lost three players in the African Nations Cup, we lost suddenly in one night six players... basically in two days - that is very difficult for us."

Please let this be some cruel, sick joke!!

dont remind me.

i think if robin cant sort out the injury problems (admitably its not his fault, but it just seems that certain players are very injury prone) and is out for alot longer, then its going to get harder and harder for him to get back in the team.

I would hate for him to end up like Michael Owen or Ronaldo. So much potential but their stupid fragile bodies just don't listen! <_<
I love Robin. But why can't he be like Cesc or Kolo or something? Pfffft.
