Tomorrow, 31 March marks the 7 year anniversary of David "Rocky" Rocastle's death.

For those who don't know Rocky Rocastle, he spent 8 years with Arsenal in which he made 277 appearances and 34 goals. He was a member of the side that won the League Cup in 1987 and the title in 1989 after the legendary game at Anfield.
He also made 14 appearances in the England U21 squad scoring 2 goals, 14 appearances in the England senior squad and 2 appearances in the England B squad.

After Arsenal, he spent time at Leeds United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Norwich City, Hull and the Malaysian side Sabah

He retired from football in 1999 due to extensive injuries. In 2001, he revealed that he was battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma disease. He died shortly after at the age of 33, leaving behind a wife and four kids.

To all those who remember Rocky, he will forever be remembered as one of England's gifted players and a true Arsenal legend

A tribute to Rocky

His name will forever be chanted, from the terraces of Highbury to the tiers of Ashburton Grove.

This whole thing was very sad. Anyone remember the day news of his death came out? We were playing Sp**s, and Bobby Pires scored and dedicated his goal to Rocky. They both wore the number seven.

R.I.P. David Rocastle! Gone but never forgotten!
