This is my first story/fic I've wrote, so be kind! :)

The dirty white cab begins to slow down, the tires screeching gently from the rain tainted roads from the storm last night; she’s looking quietly out of the misted windows onto the passing streets, each house becoming clearer as the cab finally grinds to a halt in front of a large brick house in the outskirts of the city. Grabbing onto her suitcase to her left, she leave the cab hastily, desperate to get away from the unbearable humidity. Her smart silvery shoes clatter as usual when she hastily steps out onto the street, and hands several notes of money to the beckoning driver, pushing back her hazel brown wavy hair which matches her dark leather bag which hangs over her shoulder.
The garden is small, but perfectly cared for, each pot filled with flowering plants of various colours. The house seems abnormally quiet inside; the sun had long disappeared behind the little houses which lie along the horizon. There are no lights on, there is no sign of life inside the old mason-nary building, she watches intensely for any movement, noise or action. Anything to calm her, after all the taxi driver had now sped off down the tarmac road and was standing alone outside, just waiting. In her head she begins to count the number of flowers in the flowerbed directly below her feet, after telling herself if they amounted to an odd number she would go on ahead to the front door. 13. She sighs, presumably at her luck, but of course it was only a 50-50 chance, hesitantly applying an extra layer of lip-gloss she stalks up the gravel path leading to the glimmering white door.
Feeling somewhat nervous as she knocks on the door, she frantically brushes imaginary dirt off her face and begins to fiddle with her buttons, undecided whether they were best done up or left open. Her worried expression is reflected obscurely in the glass panes, which are rippled, but none the less show her hair perfectly flat and neatened. The hollow sound of a door opening up inside is followed up with quiet footsteps over the clay tiles.
“Hello” the girl says, her welcoming face appearing in the doorway immediately. “You must be the new maid; he told me you would be coming this afternoon. Come in!” and she beckons her inside with a waft of the wrist, walking her through a cream papered hallway, the modern style contrasting against the antique fashioned look of the outside.
The girl leads her into a cozy looking room on the left of the hallway, where she offers a seat to the new maid as she takes a seat herself. The room is painted white, and the walls are decorated with musky gold furniture and old decorations. Relaxing onto the black leather sofa, she gently flicks through her hair with expertise as she brushes her thick locks out of her nervous looking face. She notices two photo’s on the marble mantel piece above the electric fireplace. One of two young children sitting on a swing set laughing and giggling as the photo was taken, it was a beautiful day which seemed to reflect in the mood and matched the wide grins placed on both of the children’s faces. The oldest has dark brown hair, bearing his cute grin of large teeth towards his little sister, presumably so as they both share the same startling blue eyes; his sister’s dress covered in few grass stains and even had the odd clump of grass dangling out of her white blonde hair.
“Isn’t he just adorable?” she says, noticing the visitor’s attachment to that particular photo as she points to the grinning boy, and she bears a sweet smile as she admires the photo closer up.
“Well, I’m Kati, I’m his cousin” the smile doesn’t leaving the girl’s face “and you must be…” Kati trails off as she slowly scans through several attachments of paper, tracing her finger across the creased pages softly.
“It’s Billie” she says, after she had nervously distracted Kati by touching her hand to stop her grabbing through the papers “I’m Billie.” She smiles.
“That’s pretty much it you’ve signed all the forms, so do you want me to show you up to your room?” Kati offers politely, noticing the crammed luggage bags which are clutched tightly in Billie’s hands, Billie nods as she follows Kati out of the room and starts to climb the echoing wooden steps.
“Well, it’s not much but I’m sure it’s big enough” she comments, opening up the wooden door to reveal a large open spaced room, in the middle of which stood a comfortable bed, which looked very attractive to Billie right now. After all, it wasn’t the most enjoyable having to catch a flight and then get stuck in tons of traffic from the airport, on what could be the warmest day known to England. The cool breeze, blowing heavily in from the open windows, is inviting and soon enough Billie has walked through and sat down on the relaxing bed.
“So how was the flight anyway?” Kati asks brightly, joining Billie alongside her on the bed sheets, waking Billie up from her rant to herself about her day.
“It wasn’t too bad” she replies positively, unsure what sort of an answer she was looking for and hesitant as to what she could say next. It wasn’t like she was a shy girl; she was just very pleased to have got the job and didn’t want to get thrown out by accidentally insulting family members.
The door clinks open from downstairs, the sound of keys jingling into a tray can be heard and is followed by a voice.
“Hello?” he asks, both of them looking to each other undecidedly as the voice suddenly calls out.
“Do you want to come down for coffee?” Kati offers Billie, getting up off the thick bed quilt and heading slowly towards the door, beckoning Billie onwards to follow her.
The loud screech of the kettle as it finally boils, overrides the last part of a conversation that they were having in the kitchen. A good British coffee, Billie had been needing one of these all day and it couldn’t have smelt better, it smelt so great that the heat of the drink wouldn’t get in her way of drinking it.
“So.” He starts, coming back into the room after putting his shoes away in the adjacent room “Are you any good with kids?”
“Umm, kids. I- I’m not too sure.” Billie replies hesitantly, and then remembering the photograph atop the fireplace “I have a little brother” she adds more positively and reassuringly grins towards them.
“You can meet mine tomorrow evening; they are at their Grandparents for a few days.” He promises, taking a deep sip of black Kenyan coffee and picking up the newspaper and opening it, his astonishing blue eyes scanning the sports page attentively.
“Is it okay if I go rest now? My day has been long, unless there is anything I can do for you?” she proposes silently hoping everything was fine and that she would soon be crashing onto that deep white duvet.
“No, that’s fine, you go rest” he smiles slightly looking up from the paper, before delving right back into the article again.
Billie smiles thankfully, and swiftly starts making her way towards to hallway
“Billie, if there is anything we can do for you, just ask, alright?” Kati shouts quietly after her as Billie nods peacefully, and continues up the flight of stairs.

A near rumble outside of the window wakes Billie from a distant dream over past glory days of winning medals with her netball team and long summer nights in Australia. Quickly scrambling upright, she opens her eyes and listens again attentively, the drone of the traffic outside had died down since and again she heard the same rumble. Who would be making so much noise outside at this time of night? Surely most people where asleep by now, the paranoid thoughts growing in her brain like moss on damp trees.
She decides to make sure, and gets up anxiously off the low bed in her new room, concerned not to make too much noise on the creaky floor at this time of night, watching the red digits read 1:00 on the clock. The dark corridor outside her room is only dimly lit from the faint glimmer coming from the far bedroom, the faint lighting guiding the way along the corridor.
After tapping lightly on the bedroom door, she stands aback from the door a little and waits.
“What is it?” she asks huskily, her soft voice whispering through the narrow gap in the doorframe, her eyes are distracted and tired.
“Sorry I thought this was James’ room, I heard noises outside and I just wanted to be sure it wasn’t anything” Billie stutters nervously, determined to please her new employer but unsure whether waking him up for what could just be a cat in the dustbins, to be a smart idea. Her eyes gradually gaze behind the door for a moment, before returning back to face Billie.
“He’s asleep” she states, after watching her carefully probably wondering what the hell she was wearing; not that Billie minded, she’d rather be snug in a pair of warm pajamas, which included dancing elephants stitched onto them, than wearing something sophisticated and feminine.
“So, what did you want?” Kati asks, trying not to grow frustrated at Billie as she holds her up outside her bedroom in the early hours, her darting eyes showing her impatience.
“Outside, I kept hearing bangs and rumbles, Just to be safe.” Billie’s mumble quieting as she collects awkwardness, starting to tremble slightly as a cause of the cold chill which crept through the corridor.
“Okay. One second” Kati tells her softly, disappearing behind the door again; the door creakily closes behind her. There are some hushed whispers coming from behind the now fully closed door, Billie can’t make out anything in particular but leans close enough to hear an odd ‘I don’t know’ and ‘okay, then’ after every other comment.
“You alright?” she asks, appearing again from behind the door wearing strangely long black socks stretching half-way up her calves and a dark navy shirt floats mid-way down her thighs, and walks out closing the door silently behind. She just walks, and Billie follows, It’s not an awkward silence but as it is 1am on a Sunday evening, Billie is more than nervous to see whether the noise outside was a cat or anything worthwhile.
It’s very cold outside, the eerie chill of the breeze hitting them as soon as the door is unlock, as Billie shakes, she points over to the far bushes and alleyway underneath where she was staying. Next to her, Kati pulls out a small cigarette lighter and immediately sparks up a flame to provide a better light source than the dusty street lamps. The strengthening breeze blows out the light a few times and causes panic as they begin to approach the gloomy side-door.
They hear a creak, but it’s just the tree branches in the strong gusts of wind. Beaming her light down the alleyway, Kati shields her eyes as she nervously inspects the seemingly empty corner, it was empty only for a full bin bag and a broken tent pole. “Nothing” she mutters underneath her breath, and walks back inside.
The red lights now spell out 1:30am, but Billie’s eyes aren’t watching that as they are more attracted to the dark shadow in the far corner of her bedroom, near the blowing curtains.

Part 2

“Hello?” Billie whispers hoarsely, fairly unafraid of the intruder but not wishing to wake up everybody else, she had already done enough tonight. She had already annoyed them enough tonight; she wanted a good working relationship after all she had tried many times to get a well paid job. What if this “intruder” was just a figment of her own bewildered imagination, after all nearly two days with little rest can play with your mind. They start to creep closer to her, their breathing fast but sacred, but they don’t say anything just watches Billie hesitantly, the wet glimmer in their eyes the rare bit of light around.
“Hey babe” the voice calls out quietly, It’s a man and he seems relaxed about the situation, questions immediately popping up aggressively in Billie’s mind. Babe? She didn’t even know who he was, and he was already calling her babe. Very strange, but he doesn’t seem to find it at all strange as he slides seductively onto the bed, sliding with ease across the silky pink duvet cover.
Gradually stepping backwards, Billie reaches out a shaking arm to the light switch and flicks it bravely. Now she can see everything clearer, the bulb covering the room with a blanket of bright yellow light. She can see his face, and the surprised expression fixed on it which she had previously assumed was a playful and joking look.
“Who are you?” they both say, almost as if both minds had suddenly clicked simultaneously, both expressions full of shock and misunderstanding, equally thinking ‘who are they, and what are they doing here?’ But he speaks first, sliding back off the bed and slipping his scruffy trainers back on. “Where is she?” he asks, accusingly as he still haunts Billie with his deep voice and pouting expression.
“Where is who? Do you mean Kati?” Billie asks hurriedly, she wants answers and she wants them now, she is growing more confused by each second which ticked past.
“Kati? No, not her” he replies, alike Billie growing in bewilderment as neither of them answer each others questions with the information they desired. Shaking his blonde head full of hair, he turns back towards the window and begins to climb out, before turning his angered face back to a perplexed Billie, “Don’t tell him I was here, you didn’t see anything” he adds with a trustful whisper, before disappearing amongst the darkness outside.
Don’t tell him, she wouldn’t even know where to start, she thinks feeling baffled. She didn’t even know his name, what was that to anybody?

The next morning was an awkward one, Billie preferring to stare out of the window at the never ending garden path than converse in small talk or even trying to say something which didn’t relate to the strange man from last night. But she was right, outside was beautiful, several birds had taken to congregating on the small bird table on the patio where fresh bread crumbs had been sprinkled she noticed, before turning to her own bread. She had the appetite of a horse this morning, lack of sleep tended to make her more hungry than usual but she never did feel comfortable eating much in front of strangers.
But then she saw her. It was like she just appeared out of nowhere, because now she was standing at the foot of the table, it was her, she knew it. Her jacket was short and dark, just stopping above her waistline which was lined with a brown snake skin belt, with that she had matched her dark red acrylic nails with an equally red top. Billie assumed this was the ‘she’, who the man had been looking for last night, but now she was here right in front of her and Billie wasn’t too sure how to appropriately react. A stranger hassling you at 2am in the morning isn’t something which is easy for a girl to forget, even one with days as busy as hers. The expression on Billie’s face said a lot, she just looked up towards her watching her look into her dark leather bag before kissing her husband effortlessly on the cheek. She places her brown handbag on top of yesterday’s newspaper and walks through with her bag into the main room next door to the kitchen.
“Psst” He whispers once she has closed the door behind herself, he is leaning carefully over a couple of boxes of cereals and with his concerned eyes towards Billie “Don’t say anything about Kati being here yesterday, will you promise me that?” his voice is spoken softly and then he desperately explains “They really, really don’t get on”
Billie nods, because other than his sweet plea which definitely convinced her never to cross him, he was her employer and she was going to do anything he needed, even if she felt like she was keeping secrets. He seemed like a good guy as well, didn’t he? Billie was in no position to be judging people early on, but as a maid to a family, she will always be loyal to those who treat her well. But that was expected.
“Have you got anything planned for tonight?” he asks, snatching Billie back into reality in an instant and looks towards him in an unsure manner. “Just wondering if you’d want to come out with me and some others” a comforting smiles creeping onto his face, sensing the awkward vibes coming from her.
“I don’t know, I don’t know anybody, I’m not sure” Billie responds nervously, feeling a bit embarrassed and on the spot, it was awkward enough being around them at the moment anyway, she didn’t even want to imagine the uncomforting situations that could happen.
He laughs, showing his teeth as he grins; just like the little boy in the photograph “Come on, you’ll get to meet new friends.” Looking softly towards Billie, who looks nothing but unsure and decisive “It’s not as if you will get in trouble with your boss for drinking either!” She laughs, it’s quiet and shy but it’s a laugh and she nods in agreement. “Okay, you win”
“DADDY!” a high scream interrupts from the hallway, it’s the little boy from the photograph, yet he isn’t a tiny as the photo made him out to be, it must have been a few years old. He runs energetically towards his dad, and leaps up onto his lap, who lovingly messes up his hair. They look so much a like, Billie thinks, as she watches them together laughing.
“James, this is Billie. She’ll be staying with us, she’s our maid” he smiles, letting the boy off his lap and pointing over towards Billie who sits blushing slightly as James stares in amazement at her.
“Hi James, I suppose I’ll be tidying up after you’ve been playing with your toy cars.” Billie says, beginning to brighten up as she feels more at ease, after he flashes one of his world famous cheesy grins. “If there is anything you want, just ask me. Okay James?” she adds politely in her put on sweet-as-sugar topped cakes voice, not that she usually spoke like the Hulk, but it was just natural to speak differently around children.
“He looks so much like you” she smiles towards him, looking back and forwards between them “It’s really cute”
“He’s just like I was, when I was 4.” He smiles, pouring Coca cola into a small orange cup for him as James stands underneath him bouncing eagerly “I was a lot more trouble though, well so I’m told” Billie smiles, watching them both fondly as they laugh together, she never really knew her dad, It was after her 2nd birthday party that her dad had decided he had enough and decided to leave. She hadn’t heard anything ever since, and she couldn’t even picture what he looked like, only with the aid of photographs which her Grandmother had given her.
“My friend will be picking us up at 8pm, so make sure you are ready by then.” He says, after little James had wondered off into the living room and sat down next to his mother, who was delicately sipping at her water whilst concentrating immensely on some chic-flick. ‘Oh lord, he’s so handsome’ ‘that can’t be his girlfriend, surely?’ and ‘I really, really love him. Sob sob’ were lines which had been constantly repeated.
“Okay.” Billie smiles, returning back into the room and looks towards him as he continues to devour an apple “I suppose, I’ll go and unpack, then get ready in a bit” she adds, turning away from him and heading up the steep wooden stairs.

She didn’t think of was a good idea to have come, Billie just sits there on the edge of the bar, vaguely watching her new boss laughing about and drinking with a table of his friends. It will be a good idea, she had thought, you’ll get to make some friends around here and relax a bit, she had argued to herself, but it wasn’t a good idea, was it?
The moment she had slid into the car that evening, Gary had smiled back at her friendlily as she was adjusting her dress in the back seat of the car, it wasn’t anything he had done, or anything he had said, but his eyes just brought her so much pain, and now she could think of little else. So after sitting at the table awkwardly for 20 minutes, all of the other 6 guys flickeringly watching her in the midst of a casual conversation about the new BMW car, which just made Billie, feel even more out of place. None of whom were female, nor had brought a female along, nobody to talk lip-gloss and desperate housewives with, not that she particularly wanted to, but it would be nice if she had that option.

“If you hadn’t guessed already, Gary likes you” he grins, awakening her quickly as he stands next to her at the bar, watching Billie for a reaction after he had order another round of drinks for the table of friends. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” he asks, sounding concerned as he watches her absentmindedly stir her cocktail continuously with a paper umbrella. She doesn’t say anything, simply because there is nothing to say, and she continues with the stirring of her tropical flavored drink strongly aware of his light blue eyes still watching her. “Have I done something to upset you?” he asks guiltily, assuming there is no answer to follow his previous questions as he takes to the red stool next to Billie’s.
“No” she mumbles, before looking to him “I guess I miss home, and I just feel awkward here, in this place. I don’t know anybody” her mumble growing in volume as she pours out her short-term worries. She smiles politely at him, as he watches her sympathetically and strokes her shoulder in comfort.
“Please, come with me, come sit with us” he asks, getting up off the barstool and reaches out for her hand persuasively, reluctantly she takes it and is led across the room to the table. Well, she wanted to go over, who wouldn’t want to sit at a table with good-looking footballers? However she felt an intruder and uncomfortable, she hadn’t been invited by them, she had just been asked out in an act of politeness.
“So, where are you from?” one of the guys in the corner of the seating asks as soon as Billie has settled down on the end of the seat, his dark brown mysterious eyes studying her.
“I’m from Glasgow” she says timidly, because there are 14 pairs of eyes waiting for an answer, and the eyes send a shiver of nerves down her spine, awkward, she thought, her deep brown eyes coyly scanning the circle of faces around her watching.
“Do you want to dance?” an accented voice asks from the other side of the table, It’s Gary and he’s looking sweetly towards Billie, with those eyes.
“Maybe later, yeah?” she responds, somewhat regretfully, she did want to dance and just dance, dance, dance but just not with him. Now she feels guilty, and returns to her timid position and sinks slightly back into the leather cushioned seats as they start up a conversation on a girl called Linda. Whoever it was, they all seemed to know a lot about her, talking in more hushed whispers now and even seemed to feel angered towards her.
“Apparently she’s taken him to see her parents for the weekend; I bet he’s pleased with that” the quieter guy next to Gary pipes up, and takes a swig of his drink “It’s not even nearby, he said they lived some 200 miles away!”
“Stephen, he’s wrapped round her little finger, seriously” Gary laughs, catching Billie’s eye line for a moment “He really can be pathetic about some of the things, he doesn’t even shower after training just so he won’t be late home for her.” He laughs again, nudging Stephen as he shakes his head in disbelief.
“Can’t you remember he had to miss my party, because she had a ‘thing’ on the same night?” another guy asks, his soft blonde hair sticking up all over the place as he tousles it aggressively with his hand.
It went on like that, at first Billie had some interest because it had been just like her old days in school with a mid-day bitch on the radiators, but with all the unknown names popping up here and there, she couldn’t make ends meet and gave up trying to understand.

“Cheer up” a voice calls nearby as Billie stares into an imaginary world; she looks up to see a barmaid standing above her with arms full of empty drink glasses. “I don’t mean to be interruptive in your personal life, but I’m sure it isn’t as bad as you feel” she says brightly, attempting to sway Billie into a happier light.
“No worries, I appreciate you being thoughtful” Billie murmurs, smiling gently as the barmaid’s words sinks into her mind, maybe it wasn’t as bad as she thought maybe it was more down to Billie’s habit of spinning everything deeper into a negative perspective.
“Just forget about whatever it is, and have fun here” she smiles, carefully selecting what to say as she tries to avoid sounding to personal or rude, she herself was a bit frustrated at work today and the sight of a girl who wasn’t being loud and intimidating was hard to find in this place, so being able to talk to someone alike her was nice. “Do you not know any of them?” she asks, nodding over to the pool table close by where they were onto their third game of pool.
“I work for one of them, the rest I don’t know, no” Billie sighs, thinking again how silly of her it was to come along, just because she had felt bad for saying no to him.
“Billie, you alright?” another voice calls, before the other girl can respond, It’s Kati and she bounces in brightly and slides onto the padded chairs surrounding the table. Her soft brown hair is twirled neatly into curls, she looks completely different dressed like this than when she was at the house, and tonight she is wearing short black shorts with a brightly jeweled canary yellow top which seems to match her mood this evening.
“I’ll see you around” the barmaid says, before walking off to collect more empty beer-glasses, “See ya” Billie mutters back after she had left, and turns back to Kati.
“Where is everyone?” she asks, looking towards Billie and presumably wondering what had happened to the smiling and polite looking girl from yesterday.
Billie nods over to the pool table, as Kati follows her glance and turns to face the pool table behind, where one of them was just lining up a shot.
“Sorry for being late, I got held up in work this afternoon.” She says apologetically, and smiles “I know it probably hasn’t been much fun hanging around with a group of strange loud lads, even if they are good-looking.” She laughs, taking Billie by the hand softly “Come on, let’s go and dance”
Gently smiling, Billie gets up and follows her onto the bustling dance-floor, and immediately starts to loosen up and start to dance, it may have only been a sway of the shoulders and hips, but it was something.
“You look really beautiful tonight, you know that” Kati says smiling, as she admires Billie’s sleek black dress which she had ‘creatively’ tied a white ribbon around as a belt, she feels a bit embarrassed, but smiles and mumbles a ‘thanks’ nonetheless. “Now come on, there must be one of those guys you like, just a bit” she pesters, looking over towards the pool table again. “What about Stephen?” she asks, nodding towards the dark haired guy taking a shot, he ruffles his dark curly hair slightly laughing as his shot completely misses the ball and pots one of Gary’s.
“I don’t, really” Billie whispers quietly, but repeats it after not being able to even hear it herself over the thumping stereos in the corner.
“Oh, have you got a boyfriend?” she asks suddenly “Sorry, he wouldn’t be pleased if he knew I was trying to set you up with somebody” giggling softly as she turns her attention back to Billie and away from the group of lads.
“No, I don’t have a boyfriend” Billie says softly, it wasn’t really something she felt comfortable discussing with new people and thought she would make it obvious she wasn’t willing to compare measurements or techniques. “I haven’t had time for one” she smiles softly, just incase her snappy reply had seemed too unfriendly.
Their conversation quickly fades as the next tune starts to play, and both of them disappear into the music, and the crowd as the dance floor begins to fill as the song becomes more recognizable. Music is a funny thing, she thinks as she begins to forget about previous worries and is filled with happy memories and an unbreakable confidence as she doesn’t seem to want to stop dancing. After a few songs in, Kati says something about feeling flustered, and makes for the door, but Billie doesn’t want to stop right now and just filters further into the crowd of people.
“Hey, see now you look like you are having fun!” the blonde barmaid from earlier in the night grins, dancing alongside minus the black apron which she had been wearing before revealing a pretty black shirt and skirt combination. “It’s so good to finally finish!”
Billie grins, watching the girl dancing eagerly underneath the neon lighting above them, “You were right and thanks” she says sweetly, staying close to the girl who while now Billie was in a better mood, appreciated her bright company better. “I’m Billie” she says, having to shout in her ear as the music is turned up.
“I’m Nettie, you must introduce me to those lads you were with.” Nettie grins childishly, as she bounces around on the spot energetically to the pumping dance track.
“Do you want to?” she asks, beckoning Nettie towards the exit of the crowd, Nettie stops bouncing and eagerly follows her as they squeeze through the hoards of dancing groups.
As they near the pool table, Billie realizes they aren’t there and sighs sympathetically, finally feeling capable and it was just typical she couldn’t try her new found confidence on them. Maybe they are outside, certainly Kati was, she thought puzzling as she checked her watch to read 11pm. Its cooler outside, Billie appreciates immensely after the hours of non-stop dancing had made her resemble a tomato, hesitantly checking Nettie is still behind her every now and then.
“Billie, we’re getting taxi home now, are you coming?” he asks, walking towards her quickly with Kati, but there is no sign of any of the other guys Nettie had been eager to meet. But Billie has to say yes, because she clearly doesn’t know her way back to the house from where ever she was now, and being stuck in the middle of the city didn’t sound too appealing on a cool evening, she was struggling with the difference in accent enough, drunken accents weren’t going to be any easier.
“Yeah, I will” she says finally, and turns guiltily to Nettie who stands there watching “I’m sorry, maybe I could another time?” she offers, trying to get the point across without making it obvious what they were talking about, almost like a secret. Nettie smiles, and nods disappointingly “Well, here’s my number anyway.” Billie smiles, and joins them as they stand out on the curb waiting for a Taxi to come. It doesn’t take long to come along, there had already been a few speed past but they had been full or not noticed them urgently signaling on the side of the road.
“10 Pershore street first please, then onto Lapel lane, Edgbaston please” he says to the driver as they pile into the back of the big black Taxi and drive away, he then sits in between Billie and Kati in the back seat and gazes out of the window. Billie can see flashes of red and blue lights, sometimes glimmers of yellow or green as the speedily pass hundreds of lit up buildings and clubs; It’s almost like being back in the bar.
The taxi slows down, and eventually stops outside an apartment block, seemingly where Kati lived, which was confirmed when she clambered over them both towards the door.
“I won’t be a minute” he says, following Kati out of the door and he pushes the door to as Billie continually gazes at them through the window as they disappear into the entrance. The taxi driver turns around, and mumbles something about money for the journey, she didn’t catch a price but grabs her handbag off the floor and digs in deep, she rustles around for her leather purse but instead her hand grips onto something else, which makes her stop and freeze.
