Saturday Jan 10th, 3pm Uk First prem match of 2009, hopefully we can start the year off with a win. Bolton are always a tough match for us even though recently we have done well against them. Gallas and Silvestre are out, while Toure and Denilson are fit and Song is back from suspension. Squad should look something like this probably: Almunia Sagna Toure Djourou Clichy Eboue Denilson/Song Diaby Nasri Adebayor van Persie I think if we play our best and if we defend well on set pieces and long balls over the top (a big if i must admit), then i think we will win, hopefully comfortably. Come on Arsenal!!! :gooners: :gooners: |

omg this game is soooooooooooooo boring bolton have 10 men as defence we have like 80% of the possesion but we cant go near the goal cos the whole bolton team is defending, so am unimpressed with bolton big time i guess the only way we can score is by freekicks or corners but we definently need 3 points so come on boys we need to somehow get past this solid defence of theirs vela just came on for diaby Edited by LoveStoned89, Jan 10 2009, 05:25 PM.

FT 1-0 bendtner A fabolous pass from clichy to RVP and he looked up saw bendter did a cross and bendtner scored from a great angle passed JUSSI's legs and went in wat a goal so happy he scored cos some of the fans were turning on him and i felt sorry for him well done bendter ;-) and i also loved how all the players gave him a hug, and RVP said something in his ear which made Nicolas smile it was soooo sweet my heart melted ;-) when vela and bendter came on we looked more lively, and RVP and ade had more backup and more choices which seems good, so i think we should play like thatmore often even though Aaron Ramsey came on in the last 5 minutes he looked lively and i think he eserves to be in the starting line up Vela had a great chance but he could of passed it to RVP but he had a shot on goal but their goal keeper saved it thank goodness we have the 3 points ;-) well done boys IAWT Edited by LoveStoned89, Jan 10 2009, 06:00 PM.

Was not a good performance overall, Bolton just played defense the whole match and we had trouble breaking them down, especially before Diaby came off. I think Nasri needs to play CM while Cesc is out and Vela or Wilshere or someone (Arshavin maybe??) should play on the wing. Nasri was very good at CM today and was last weekend too, he is a great attacking creative player and needs to be pulling the strings in the midfield. van Persie was brilliant again today too, he really has been carrying the team recently. I love seeing him in such good form. Clichy and Sagna I also think did well today, and Toure and Djourou did pretty much everything they had to, granted Bolton really didnt try to attack. Almunia i think needs to do better calling for balls, twice today he came close to getting caught out of goal because of a mix up between him and a defender. Denilson did okay, he did well winning the ball sometimes, but he also gave it away too often. Eboue and Diaby I thought were inaffective and when they came off we really started turning up the pressure. And Ade, wtf kind of performance was that?! He looked lazy and uninterested today, and his miss was just shocking. Overall, happy with a hard fought 1-0 win, but there still needs to be alot of work done to get this team where it should be. |

Boring game, could of been 3 or 4-0 but instead only 1-0... just. Thanks to Bendtner. :) We have to get out of this late late goal scrapping thing.. it's not good, I was starting to get worried towards the end of the game that it was going to end 0-0! We have got to keep winning and hope Aston Villa drop a few points! |
