It would be hard to select a color palette with a more terrible lack of contrast than what you have here. The old style is better. Honestly. And the previous skin had lots of contrast? You could say something along the lines of, "Increase the contrast between the text and the background color", instead of being rude. I have no idea what brightness settings you are using, but the skin is easy to read from my screen and doesn't make "my eyes bleed" as you so kindly put it.
