No, you're just being ignorant. Al Qaeda and Osoma Bin Laden have used our troop presence in Saudi Arabia as the reasoning behind the 9/11 attacks. Our troops in THEIR holy land is what sets them off, and invading Iraq has only created MORE extremists in a land that has their eyes set on us. The reason we have not been attacked is because Al Qaeda has been focusing their efforts on the insurgency in Iraq, killing our soldiers. Terrorism is not something that can be defeated with war, rather prevented with strong domestic secuirity. Bush has made us more vulnerable to attack in the past 5 years. Do you know McCain's plans for Iraq? He plans to have a troop presence there for a 100 years. Sorry, but this is not Korea. This region is a breeding ground for intolerance and extremism, and our soldiers there fuels their hatred. Staying in Iraq longer then necessary will inevitablely result in another attack on our homeland. |

you can't be serious our presence is not fueling them. they hate our freedom, and they hate the fact that we don't all praise allah. you are justifying their behavior by stating that our presence is the reason for it. they attacked us unprovoked. remember america is the great satan becuase we like rock 'n roll and wear blue jeans. by the way I am watching Team America World Police, AMERICA FUCK YEA. |

I'm curious. What would you do if China invaded the United States and occupied your hometown? You would do what they have done, rebel. They were provoked. It's the simple truth and we need to avoid any more of it at all costs. They don't care what we believe, as long as we don't bother them. We just happened...to bother them. |

I'm sorry you beleive that wisp. Keep in mind, Spain, France, England, and others have been attacked by terrorists, and France doesn't do anything but smoke and make wine. They are waging a Jihad on us, and other nations, because they think it is what Allah wants them to do. They do suicide bombings becuase they think that Allah will reward them for doing so. Also keep in mind, they are now strapping remotely detonated explosives to mentally handicapped individuals, and detonating them when they are in a crowd. They are extremists, like I said YOU are justifying their behavior. They are religious fanatics, they act the way they do because of their religion, and would be (and have been) doing this to anyone who is an "infidel." |

I've got to side with Wisp on this one. Back in the Cold War, western countries decided that Islamic radicalism was better than communism and we backed the "freedom fighters" to help take down the commies. We've been interfering in Middle Eastern affairs for a long time. We've propped up dictators like Saddam Hussein, we've sold our culture and our weapons over there, and the whole thing with Israel is huge and somewhat beyond my scope of knowledge. And come on, all of Europe has been very involved in the Middle East since WW2. Even the French have troops and military bases in the region. Another interesting thing is that 15 of the 9/11 highjackers were Saudis yet you don't see us invading the monarchy that is Saudi Arabia. Instead we sell them bombs and jets. Back to the real topic. I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries. Not because I think he would be a good president, but because I really want to get the message of state's rights and limited federal government back into the national debates. I'll probably vote for some obscure libertarian candidate in the general elections cus screw it. |
