With tomorrows upcoming match against Sorry Ass Clan, I contacted Kelgari about getting a scrim together. I found us a team, including Kelgari, Eric, Jspace10, Erzhik, mp3 and myself. Meanwhile, Kelgari nabbed us a scrim over IRC, against Vis a Vis. They apparently wanted to play Gravelpit, and agreed to play Junction afterwards. We started up the game and found ourselves getting pummeled. They managed to capture all of our control points in just 3 minutes. Obviously, we weren't able to do the same on offense. The next time around we tried to think of ways we could improve for this upcoming round, and nothing really came up. The only difference is I was sent to A to sticky the spawn, and I got sniped two seconds after the round started. They took B quickly afterwards. However, we changed tactics slightly while defending C which made all the difference. Eric, instead of playing Engineer, switched to Heavy and spammed down from the tower, hindering their offense. They also tried spamming the top of the tower with rockets and pipes, but Erzhik air blasted them right back at them. We managed to hold the point for 7 1/2 minutes this time, a dramatic improvement over the round. During the setup time, Kelgari made a split second decision to attack B instead of A. Oddly enough, they had made the huge mistake of splitting up their defense between A and B. Defending B was only a Pyro, Scout and Engineer. We rolled over them and started to cap B and received no resistance from them at the point. At that point, they seemed pretty disorganized, and we captured A and C quickly. Solid evidence that your defense should always center around B. We asked them to switch the map to Junction, but they apparently had to leave. Kelgari returned to IRC and found us another scrim. We all started to join the new server, but noticed someone was missing. Eric had sort of...vanished. We weren't able to find a ringer and that ended our TF2 action for the evening.
