Assignment 8 The Lord's Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as well also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen |

Thank you Masters. Assignment 9 I memorized the verses and meditated on them. In my meditations, I began to respect my parents more and I am making a commitment not to argue with them. I think that God has really taught me how to love me parents, my family, and those around me. |

Excellent answer Maria. Being a teen myself, I know it's not always easy ot listen to what our parents say. (or parent, in my case, lol) I'm glad meditation has shown you how to love them more, and argue less. Keep up the good work. |

Assignment 10 My interpretation of the Jedi Code Jedi do not let their emotions control their actions. Instead, they rely in the Force to guide their actions. Jedi are not without knowledge. Jedi trust in the Force and learn all they can to gain wisdom. A Jedi does not have any attachments. He does not let his emotions cloud his mind and judgement. Instead, Jedi control their emotions. This control brings forth peace. Like other people, Jedi do die. However, a Jedi can live with hope in this-the body may die, but the Jedi's spirit lives on forever. In Christ, a Jedi has eternal life. |

Thank you, Master. Assignment 11 My Results Monday 5/26/08 I thought this meditiation helped me to focus in on the present moment, and how my actions would affect the next moment and my future. I felt relaxed. I was in a state of calm and my mind was very clear and observant. Everything was quiet, except for the rush of cars outside and the laughter of my brother and his friend while they were playing. I was focusing on a lightsaber hovering in the air. I focused on the lightsaber because it is a symbol of unity to the Jedi. In the activity I thought of how the symbol of the lightsaber unites the Jedi. Later, I realized that it is really the power of God and the Force that unithes us. Then, the Jedi unite the world, and bring peace to it. Tuesday 5/27/08 I thought this meditation has really quieted and cleared my mind. It can open up my mind to make good decisions. I felt like I was in a trance. I felt the Force-around me, inside of me. It became a part of me. I felt calm and at peace. The streets were pretty quiet. The sun was setting. My dad was taking out the garbage. My mother was helping my brother with his homework. I focused on "faith" because it is a Jedi essential. Without faith, we would be nowhere as a Jedi and Christians. This meditation greatly rested my mind and spirit. I had felt stressed before the meditation. Afterward, I felt completely relaxed. Wednesday 5/28/08 I thought that I was being very mindful today. My mind was quieted, but I could be concious of the world around me. Again, I felt like I was in a trance. I need to work on not getting distracted, however. Other than that, I was relaxed. Cars passed by outside. The clock was ticking. All else was quiet. I was focusing on "knowledge and wisdom". These things are essential to a Jedi. Wisdom helps us to make good choices. Knowledge equips us to better serve others. I was very relaxed today. The meditation again calmed my anxieties and soothed my mind. Thursday 5/29/08 I thought I was very relaxed by this meditation. Each day I think I am becoming more mindful. I felt relaxed, calmed, and peaceful. No images really came to my mind. I did see light( the Force? ) filling me, Traffic was passing outside, and my dad was mowing the lawn. I focused on peace. Jedi bring peace to the world, which is what the world really needs. I think that each day, I am improving in being mindful. Friday 5/30/08 I seemed more alert of my surroundings. I think that my senses were improved by this meditation. I felt calm and relaxed. I could control my temper easily with this meditation as well. Traffic was passing outside and the clock was ticking in my room. All else was quiet. I focused on patience. Patience is a virtue and a necessary trait for a Jedi. I need to develop that trait the best I can. I focused on patience so that I can improve my own. Saturday 5/31/08 I thought of myself helping others. I thought of how this meditation is improving my mindfulness and my connection to the Force. I felt relaxed. The Force engulfed me, and made me strong and alert. My mom was walking in the hallway. Cara passed by outside. The clock was ticking. Everything was quiet. I focused on service. I thought of how I could serve others and how I could improve my service. Service is essential to a Christian and a Jedi. Sunday 6/1/08 I thought of the Force filling me during this meditation. I felt calm and relaxed. I felt complete, lasting, serenity. Cars passed by outside. Everything was quiet. I focused on the first line of the Jedi Code-There is no emotion;there is peace. I thought of this so that I could let go of my emotions and keep a clear mind. My mind was very clear. I listened to the Force, and it clamed my anxieties. I let it wash over me. Questions 1. Has this activity helped you to stay mindful? Yes 2. Has it helped you to relax, and keep your focus on the here and now? Why or why not? Yes. I have become much more aware of my surroundings and I have been able to focus on what I was doing. I have been able to let the Force calm and relax me to focus on the here and now. 3. What are some other ways you can work on being mindful? I found an exercise in the book "Last of the Jedi: Underworld" that could help me to stay mindful: "He used an exercise that every Padawan had learned. The were led to a certain spot, told to open their eyes, look for five seconds, then close them again. THen they were to describe everything they'sd seen. Sometimes they faced what seemed to be a blank wall, and they would have to note every crevice, every irregularity." Another way to stay mindful is to keep a journal. I can list my emotions, and why I felt that way at the time, to stay mindful of my thoughts. 4.How does being mindful help you as a Jedi? As a Christian? must be mindful during missions, and while they serve others. Being mindful helps us as Christians to grow and understand how we fit into the world around us. Being mindful helps a Jedi to calm himself. Serenity is essnetial to a Jedi. A Jedi must be mindful during missions, and while they serve others. Being mindful helps is as Christians to grow and understand how we fit into the world around us. 5. Does being mindful help to increase your faith, and trust in God? Why or why not? Being mindful helps to increase my faith and trust in God because it helps me to improve my prayer life, and how I treat other people. It increases my patience, and helps me to be aware of my emotions and how I deal with them. |
