Assignment 9 1. What do you think of this situation? This situation, unfortunately, has happened in real life. It brings to my mind particularly the child labor in the 1800s in the United States. Hundreds of children toiled to support their families, most often in terrible conditions. I think that this situation is horrible, but Qui-Gon should do his mission. There isn't anything he can do about this at the moment. If he did free the children, they and their families would probably die of starvation. 2. Do you believe it is true that we cannot save everyone in the galaxy? Why or why not? Yes, I do believe that we cannot save everyone in the galaxy. There are so many problems that people deal with everyday, so one can only do so much. Also, the key thing to remember is that this world is sinful. Until Jesus returns, the galaxy will never truly be at peace. That doesn't mean that we can't do our part to help others, it just means we cannot reach everyone. 3. What would you do if you were in Qui-Gon's position? I would do my duty, were I in Qui-Gon's position. I would complete the mission. |

Since you are my Padawan I will throw a couple of questions out. (As Master Kai did with Todd.) Do you think that Qui-Gon should have been able to challenge his master, if he felt strongly about this situation? Do you think the fact the it wasn't part of their mission was a viable reason, or merely an excuse? |

1.Do you think that Qui-Gon should have been able to challenge his master, if he felt strongly about this situation? I think that he should have been able to confront Dooku if he didn't agree with him. A Master and Padawan should be able to trust each other and talk about anything. I find it disturbing that Dooku just blew Qui-Gon off like that. 2.Do you think the fact the it wasn't part of their mission was a viable reason, or merely an excuse? I think that it was an excuse. I guess Dooku wasn't comfortable talking to Qui-Gon about this. Why would he just sit there and not even talk about helping? |

Very good answers, Maria. I hope that you and I can trust each other and talk about anything as well. You are very intelligent and mature and I am honored to have you as my first Padawan. |

Assignment 10 I am going to write about RJK, since that is where I usually train. Some of the strengths of RJK are: plenty of people, it's easy to make friends there, and the training is good. Also that's how I found out about COJK :) Some weaknesses are: it takes too long for the trials to be graded, and some teachings there aren't necessarily what I believe as a Christian. I like coming here( to COJK ) because I have friends here, and can have fellowship with other Christians. |
