Leviticus Bible Study

1. Do we still need to offer sacrifices to God? No. Jesus is our perfect sacrifice.
2. Have you accepted Jesus' sacrifice of his life for your sins? Why, or why not? I have accepted Jesus' sacrifice because I know that God promised a Savior, and that Jesus is that perfect Savior. All of the prophecies point to Him.
3. How will you show God's kindness to those who are poor or suffering? I will make an effort to donate time and money to charities and organizations helping the less fortunate.
4. How do you show respect and honor to God when you are with your friends? I try to think of what Jesus would do, and follow His example of Christian living.
5. What things in your life distract you from God? My own agenda. Sometimes I'd rather play video games or watch television than spend time with God.
6. How do you thing God might change your attitudes about those things if you let Him? God might show me that He is more important than those things. He has a plan for me and I'm not going to fufill it by not even trying to come closer to Him.
7. Have you ever had a contagious disease? I've only had the stomach flu and the common cold, and maybe a few bacterial infections.
8. What did your doctor tell you to do about it? I was to take antibiotics for the bacterial infection, drink fluids for the cold, and stay at home and eat soft foods for the flu.
9. When someone tries to pressure you to do wrong, what should you do?
I should remember God's commandments and either insist that I will not do it, or just walk away.
10. If all your friends are going to do something you think might be wrong, should you go ahead and do it so you will fit in? Why, or why not? I shouldn't because as a Christian, God doesn't want me to fit in with people who do wrong. God wants Christians to stand out from others in the world.
11. Has your brother or sister ever done something that made you mad, so you got even with them? Yes
13. This week find an older person, a grandparent or church member is good, and make arrangements to spend some time with them, getting to know them. You might be surprised at how much you learn.
Before he died, I always used to spend time with my grandpa. He would tell me about how he grew up during the Depression, and he would tell me of the places he visited during World War II. I know I will never replace a relationship like this, but I will search for an older person to talk to continiously.
14. Who would you go to in order to get Godly advice when you have a problem? Why? I would pray and also ask my parents. I would do this because God and my parents are the people I trust the most.
15. What can you do to improve your preparations for Sunday? I admit I haven't gone to church for the past few weeks. But I plan to go Sunday. I always take my Bible. I will take a notebook and a pen. I will make an effort to go to bed early Saturday night. I will not give my parents problems with waking up.
16. What do you think your life might be like if God turned away from you? My life wouldn't be much of a life. I would have nothing to put my faith in, no happiness, and my life would be pointless. All I have comes from God.
17. How will you do your part to share with others? I have to admit, I haven't been sharing my money with the church. I will give an offering the next time I go to church.

Numbers Bible Study
1. Do you consider it a privilege to be able to go before God in prayer? Why, or why not?
I do consider it a privilege. It's a blessing to be able to share your thoughts with God because it relaxes you, and makes you feel safe and secure. The Israelites didn't have that relationship. I am thankful.
2. Are you doing your share? Do you help to keep your Sunday school classroom neat and clean? I don't leave old papers or trash in the room when I leave--I throw away my garbage and push in my chair. So yes, I am doing my part.
3. In what other ways can you serve? I can volunteer to help with younger kids' Sunday School classes.
4. How would you like to serve in the future? Maybe I could teach a Sunday School class.
5. Do you tithe? No, but the next time I attend church, I will try and do it.
6. How can you serve God? I can help out at my church, pray, read the Bible, and worship God.
8. I f the crowd decides to disobey God, will you be willing to take a stand for God? How would you do it? I would be willing to take a stand for God by pointing out that whatever the crowd wanted to do was wrong, and it would not please God.
9. How can you give the very best of your gifts back to God-whethers it's money, talents, time, or the stuff you own? I can donate money to charities and give tithes, I can make cards for sick people by using my talents, I can give time volunteering at church, and I can donate old clothes.
10. Do you think God withholds blessings from us if we sin? What might they be? God does withhold blessings from us if we sin. For example, if a child stole money from his parents, then his parents won't trust him, and perhaps he won't get the privilege of going to the movies for a while.
11. What could God do to get your attention? God could send a person in need into my life to get my attention. It would get me to start serving Him more.
12. Have you ever promised someone you would do something, and then didn't do it? How did it make you feel? How do you think it made the other person feel? Yes, I have. It made me feel guilty. It made the other person feel sad and disappointed.
13. How do you show respect for your leaders? I should obey them, and honor their authority by not rebelling.
14. Is it ever all right to disagree with your leaders? Yes

Very good answers Maria. Just a thought about this one. It might be more effective if you left God out of it and just told them that you arren't interested in doing whatever they qre doing that is wrong. Because ultimately, God wants you to believe something because it is true, not just because it doesn't please him.
Plus, your friends might respect you more if it didn't appear that you are just a puppet for God.

Also, what happened to question #7?

Thanks.
Was there a question for number 7?

7. The next time someone criticizes you, stop and think about it. If there is any truth to what they are saying, acknowledge it. If not, just let it go. God will stand up for you if you stand up for him.

Padawan Assignment 16
Jesus tells us to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. He also tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

The Jedi Code:
There is no emotion, there is peace
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge
There is no passion, there is serenity
There is no death, there is the Force.

The Jedi Creed:
Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others.
Jedi respect all life in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them for the good of the galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

Yes, there are similarities. Both command that we put others before ourselves. The Jedi Code teaches us to not let our anger overcome us, and to be calm in any situation. If we choose serenity over anger, we can love our neighbor. This allows us to be patient with them. These similarities teach us that a Jedi is calm even when angered by his neighbor, and chooses to be patient and gentle as opposed to hostile. We cannot be Christian Jedi if we ignore Jesus' command or the Code. By obeying both of these commands, we can successfully carry out the mission of being a Christian Jedi in today's world.

Padawan Assignment 17

I've been working on improving my spiritual discipline by reading my Bible each day and praying. I'm working on becoming more consistent with this.

I found an assignment I missed. Sorry this is out of order.

Padawan Assignment 11

1. What are some ways that the 'sins of the garden' effect our lives today?
Since Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they created a rift between God and the human race. Man could no longer live forever, because of this sin. Not only that, but the relationship between Adam and Eve was tainted as well. That is why we argue with our friends, people get divorced, and wars go on between nations. Humans are no longer at peace with each other.

2. The Law was meant to show us how we are falling short as we live our lives. If you had to use one word to describe how we should be living, what would it be?
Righteously

3. How do you think Jesus was the fulfillment of the Law? The Law was meant to show us our sin. Jesus fufilled it by giving us a way for our sins to be forgiven. When he sacrificed himself, that sin was taken away. If we ask for forgiveness, we can have eternal life and the relationship we were meant to have with God.

4. Choose one of the following situations and write briefly about how you might make a 'compassionate choice' regarding it.

C. A woman who lives next door to your church but has never attended a service, shows up asking for grocery money. You can see a television satellite dish on the side of her house.

I would suggest that the woman start attending church services, and to take a look at our church bulletin board( at my church, there is a bulletin board with job information ). That way, she could learn about Christ and making right decisions with her money.
