I'd like to submit a request for Nikita at RJK. There was an open discussion in the philosophy section about God and he attacked my faith, even using Bible passages. I have tried my best to counter the attacks and help him understand why I believe the things I do in a calm discussion( which it still is ), but it's no use. I pray that he will one day see he was wrong and find God. |

I will pray for him as well. His heart is hardened against God so I quit contributing to the discussion when I saw that he couldn't be convinced by mere words. I'm afraid that many people are like that. All we can do is pray for him and try to be his friend and pray some more. Perhaps God will use us to win him over. Or someone else. "Father in heaven I pray for Nikita. That you might work your will in his life, that you might convict him of the truth that was brought to earth by your precious son, Jesus. I pray that you might lift the veil that is blinding him to the truth and cause his heart to be softened so that he might accept your love and grace. In the name of your beloved son, Jesus. Amen" |

I will pray for him also. Your prayer is a good one, Ben. I will keep it in mind when I pray for him. I'm sorry he attacked your faith, Maria. Sometimes unbelievers will do that when they feel threatened, so I would take it for a good sign. Nikita has always seemed like a nice guy. We should never give up on him. |

I agree with Master Kai, Nikita is a good person and I'm sure God will enlight his heart one day. We will all keep on praying for him. I'm sorry I was not more present in this topic but in this period, there are so many new topics every day at RJK that I can't check all of them. I noticed that often unbelievers react in an aggressive way in front of our Faith, probably because they unconsciously know it is the truth but they are afraid to consciously accept it. I join you all in praying for Nikita, may God open his heart to Him. Master Silmerion |

I agree too, I'll pray for him as well. I hope soon Master Jesus will soften Nikita's heart, and draw him closer to him. |

I prayed for him, because he is a nice guy, I've talked with him before. I just hope that someday he can open his heart to God. |

I just posted a response to the topic at RJK. I noticed that Nikita has become very defensive. As Master Kai said, I consider that to be a good sign. I think it means that God is convicting him and he is fighting it. I have always been taught that when you pray for someone they tend to get a lot worse before they get better. |

If I may say though, I think that we should avoid looking down on those who do not agree with our faith. I think that instead of taking the mindset of "poor thing" we should respect his decision, and treat him as an equal in the realm of personal belief. I know only the best intentions are here in praying for him, but also it is a way of looking down on him, intentional or not. But what I am saying when it comes to the treating of Aithieists, it can become easy to push them into a catagory of the "ignorant of gods word". Pushing anyone into a generalized group can become a very slippery slope, and can lead to generalization. As Jedi, we must try to avoid it at all costs. I am not saying praying for him as a person is bad, but treating him as somebody to be pittied for his opinion I am not so confortable with. No disrespect meant, I simply wish to get my feelings here off of my shoulders. |

I respect Knight Nikita's opinion, but you bring up a good point Ian. I will keep it in mind. |

I'll keep that in mind too. I respect his opinion, and I apologize if I have created a larger issue by starting this topic. |

I personally don't pray for Nikita because I pity him. I respect his ideas and beliefs but as I received many gifts from God and as I see Nikita like my friend, my praying for him is only my wish that he could eventually receive the same gifts that are so important in my life... for me it is natural to pray that everyone may have what I believe is the best from life, even more if they are my friends... I saw that Nikita asked that this topic be deleted. I do not plan to do that, but I would like to request that our members quit posting in the offensive topic at RJK. There is no point in antagonizing him. I also respect Nikita and tried to befriend him when I was at RJK, but he pretty much just ignored me. But I agree with Silmerion, I pray for him as someone I would like to see have a much better and more fulfilling life. I used to be an atheist and believed a lot of the same things he does. So I know that only God can change him, but he has to allow it. |
