Hello everyone, I'm Dulon. I wish to join this order in hopes of finding both Jedi training and good Christian community. As for past training I have little but what I've learned on my own, though I am a student on the RJK forum. I have been a Christian my whole life and regularly pursue independent studies.

Thank you for the welcome everyone. I suppose now would be as good a time as any to start my training.

Assignment 1

1. What do you think it means to follow the Jedi Way?

I believe that following the path of the Jedi is to constantly seek improvement in oneself and the world around you. The area of improvement, be it physical, spiritual, or mental, isn't particularly important, though we should always strive to better ourselves in all areas.

2. In your own words define the Force. What is it? How did it originate? How does it work?

I believe that the Force is a field of energy that encompasses everything in our world. I presume that it was created by God at some point in order to play a role in His plan for this world, be it on the scale of miracles or simply as a way to aid those who serve Him. The Force can be accessed through prayer, meditation, and focus, though exactly how it works will likely remain a mystery as it doesn't really seem like something that we can fully comprehend as humans.

Assignment 2

1. Remain in the horse stance for five minutes

I have learned the basic stances on the Martial Arts page and can hold the horse stance for a little over seven minutes.

I must say, I actually laughed at the ease of this assignment the first time I tried it; only to collapse on the floor barely a minute after starting. It's funny the ways God teaches us humility sometimes. After practicing for a few days I tried again and succeeded. I found that reciting prayers and the Jedi code was an excellent way to help me retain my focus during this exercise.

Assignment 3

1. Meditate for at least 15 minutes a day.

I generally meditate at least twice daily; in the evening before I sleep, and on the long bus ride to school each day when there really isn't much else to do. I have found that meditation can increase both my focus and energy levels. On days where I am unable to meditate I am noticeably more tiered and less effective in whatever I may be doing that day. I normally do not incorporate prayer into my meditation though after reading the lesson on it I shall begin to.

I'm a bit late to introductions here.
Greetings & welcome to COJK, Dulon. I noticed a new student. I wish you much success in your studies & becoming a Jedi. I'm sure you will do well just from reading what you've already put here. I know I'm still learning. If you need an assist please let me know.

Master Jesus always does get his point across when one leasts expects it :) .

Yes, I'm still around; I just haven't had a lot of time for posting between school, off line training and what seems a million other things I have to deal with. Anyway, here's lesson 4.

Assignment 4
1. Write telling about the kind of service you have done and how you felt after you had done it.

To be honest there isn't a whole lot of community service that I can do in my area; living on an air force base overseas there simply isn't much opportunity. I still help out where I can, a little with my local Christian youth group where I regularly bring food and even helped them renovate their building a while back. Mostly though the service I do is on a much smaller scale; I pretty much help whoever is around that needs assistance with something. Generally I don't mind helping anyone, though I don't often actively seek out opportunities for service; something I should probably improve on.

Helping with small things is very important and useful in our society. It is good that you search more for any opportunity to help, I'm sure you'll find many occasions.
