I'm sorry, I don't really know what to say. I'm from RJK and I was hoping to keep my rank if that's possible? |

Welcome to COJK! I hope you find something of interest here. We have tried letting people keep their ranks from other orders and it hasn't worked out very well since we expect more of our Padawans and Knights. To keep your rank from RJK you would have to take the Youngling Trials and it will probably be difficult without having completed the Youngling Assignments. So it would be best if you started by doing that. We ask that new members remain Younglings for at least a month. That way they don't just rush through the assignments, but actually spend some time working on each one. This is for your benefit. Also, could you just tell us a little bit more about yourself? |

Alright, no problem. Anyways, about myself...Well, I'm 14 years old, I'm a high blue belt in Tae-Kwon-Do (3 away from blackbelt) and I just started taking Judo. I've been a Christian all my life, but I'm not as close to Jesus as I'd like to be. Hopefully, I can change that. That's all I can really think of to say. |

Thanks, Rolak. One of the things we want to teach is that being a Christian is all about having a deep relationship with Jesus that leads to knowing the will of God. This is much like a Jedi is supposed to know and follow the will of the Force. People can be born cultural Christians (meaning born into a Christian family or an environment that functions according to what is generally accepted as Christianity) but you aren't really a follower of Jesus until you are transformed and begin to live your life the way Jesus intended. Jesus didn't come to start a new religion, he came to show us how to live in harmony with God, ourselves, each other, and our environment. These are all the relationships that were broken in the garden of Eden. |

Am I a Youngling? Because it says to complete the Youngling Assignments and post them here, but then it says to be a Padawan you have to finish all the Youngling Assignments...I'm confused... |

You should first complete all the Youngling Assignments, then you have to take the Youngling Trials, only then you are a Padawan. Master Silmerion |

I understand now! :D Thank you everyone for being so polite. Youngling Assignment #1: 1. What do you think it means to follow the Jedi Way? I think following the Jedi Way means trying your best to be a good person. Nobody's perfect, but we can all put in the effort to be the best person we can be. I think we should put others before ourselves because that's what Jesus did for us. 2. In your own words define the Force. What is it? How did it originate? How does it work? I can't do much with the Force at this point, but I started training at RJK and because it's not Christian-based I didn't understand that you had to have a relationship with Jesus before you can really master it. I have felt it in between my hands before and it felt cool (the temperature not the slang word, though I guess it did feel kind of "cool"). I think the Force is energy that surrounds all objects. I think God created it in the beginning when he created Adam and Eve. I have a question about the Force though. I haven't read the entire Bible, but from what I have read, I don't remember it saying anything about the Force. Does George Lucas know about the Force? I believe Star Wars first came out in 1977, and it was a science-fiction movie. Who was the first one to come up with the idea that there's a Force in real life? I'm not meaning to say I don't believe the Force is real, I just want to know how it was discovered because if I try to explain that the Force is real to someone, they just think I'm a Star Wars geek. |

Thank you very much Todd. :) Youngling Assignment #2: Hold horse stance for 5 minutes. I just timed myself on my phone's stopwatch, and I was able to hold it for 5 minutes, though it was very tiring. |
